it's not hard to fake e-mail headers. You can send whatever headers you want in an e-mail, so if you want to say that the e-mail was sent 100 years ago you can go right ahead. I routinely receive e-mail from 2015. Clever trick, spammers- it pushes the spam right to the top of my inbox. :P

Email existed long before the Internet, and one really held up SMTP server could in theory keep a message from the 80's and send it now. In theory. Of course, anything that gets sent to me postmarked before three days ago I consider spam regardless of its contents.Quote:
