Nesting mechs was an awesome concept. The thing that really carried the show for me was the fact that the good guys always win by sheer I-can-punch-the-fuck-out-of-shit-just-because-I-say-so awesome.

I don't get the deal with mechs :X

They're giant walking machines that make stuff go 'splodey boom. What's not to like?

I didn't (and for the most part still don't) like most anime mecha stuff, but this was something else. I guess it's either something you think is awesome or you don't.
