Re: Halo 4 prerelease discussion
It uses Forerunner-Human hybrid technology. Your arguments are invalid. - 343i.

Except, Halo 4 doesn't have a carefully crafted set of conventional and exotic weaponry, each with a specifically designated function. 343i also didn't stay away from the Covenant, and they are still using the same traditional Halo settings. All they did was add in a new enemy type while keeping most of the old ones...kind of like every Halo game before, no?
By far the most interesting environment I've seen is that volcanic area in the Spartan Ops trailer.

Ok so he didn't exactly called it, but it was in the ballpark. I just pre-ordered a few minutes ago so now all there is to do is wait.

Oh god. Renaming the thread had me in tears. :lmao:

I was thinking the same thing, but why is it then that ODST drop pods didn't get completely fucked when Regret's ship went into slipspace above New Mombasa? New Mombasa definitely got fucked up, but as we can see, it wasn't incinerated to oblivion as we saw in ODST despite its proximity to the Covenant ship. Then again, as Jcap pointed out, the Halo games don't follow their own lore. A perfect example of this is the ODST version of New Mombasa looks significantly different than the Halo 2 version. Pieces of the Halo 2 version that were untouched by the slipspace rupture were completely gone in the ODST version which makes it seem as though the Scarab boarding encounter never occurred.

Slipspace fields may only cause gravatational shenanagins within the volume of space they occupy. Outside of that volume, incliment weather may occur. Gravity fuck-ups may not.
I'm thinking that it would be something similar to time travel in the Terminator movies.
