Dude they have force fields and stuff, plus some elites can go invisible, maybe they worked out how to make the ships invisible.
Its obviously a long shot but dont count it out. It was a far way up and didnt go into detail.

If I remember correctly, the only time Reach burned was when the covenant attacked. Look at the fucking surface of that fucking planet. Does it look like it's not burning to you?
Maybe they're just going with the fact that it looks cool...
Overanalysis ITT.
((((Covie ships)))

______Reach_______
That's how I picture that working. Lemme see the video again.
Am i the only one here remembering how fucking big a planet can be?
The largest ships we've seen in the halo series are only a few miles big and you are bitching about how we cannot see ships from hundreds of miles away?
You can see the human ships though.
You also don't glass a planet without destroying the defenses first. The display of events in the trailer make no sense. Also H3 isn't the best example of glassing, as all those ships appeared to be in the atmosphere, as well as the portal, even though that shouldn't be possible.
And Snaf, humans fought against forerunner machines on Onyx, same thing could happen on Reach.
