The reason they've removed the breathing part is because every time you stop to get them breathing you are losing blood pressure which you worked hard to get.Quote:

As I recall brain damage can start within the first minute of having lack of oxygen, serious brain damage begins at 8 minutes.
I've had to learn alot about blood oxygen levels in the past ten years due to a sleep condition which got out of hand at an early age.
suffice to say, 60% O2 during day time is not good for the blood.
I received EMC training as part of my firefighter qualifications. Thirty chest compressions, followed by two "rescue breaths." While you're giving breaths you have to watch the victim's chest to make sure it rises. That's how you prevent yourself from giving too much air.
