I'm not seeing that at all.. But if there's any sync issues, it's because the ATI drivers for Linux have terribly broken vertical refresh syncing. Also, I think the video itself is messed up.

Some of the monitors up in the top left would lag a little bit behind where there camera was moving. It's hard to tell whether it's actual lag or whether the screens were out of sync, but they seemed to fix themselves perfectly fine after a second or two.
Wow, ATI has this working on Linux too... :o
they're running multiple instances of the game which explains one of the quadrants being sluggish

Why do people prefer having loads of smaller monitors over having one giant one with an insane resolution?
Most likely that will be the outcome of this. Companies will see the opportunity to make one big monitor out of tons of smaller ones, but put no space between the monitors, making look like one big monitor. A monitor like that would probably need all of those connections.
30" 2560x1600 is the biggest you can easily get and they cost a lot, thats why. You can get 3-5 24" screens for the price of one 30"

Speaking of seamlessly combining multiple monitors, I was considering cracking open my 22"s to see what the internal bezel spacing is, see if I can reduce the spacing between them.
I'm not too interested in new graphics cards - I only have one PCI-e x16 on my motherboard, and I've only owned this rig for a month. I also don't have much in terms of cash, so I don't have much to look forward to.
As someone stated earlier: saving commences now. I see more potential in a year than i do in the next six months. (monitor and mobo wise) What i reeeaally want to know is: how well does it play crysis?
