What's wrong with Fan service?

I'm sorry, but that is absolutely retarded. Even if New Orleans was a safe place, if you were in, say, Maine, would you honestly say to yourself, "Hey, you know, I am going to travel through at least 8 states and possibly subject myself to MORE danger than it's worth just to MAYBE survive and make it to New Orleans where it MAY OR MAY NOT BE safer."
I'm just saying.

I like fan service too, but when it's completely nonsensical with regards to the story line, fuck that. :P
Re: L4D2 DLC coming in spring... includes L4D1 survivors
Why do people keep saying L4D has a storyline? As far as I ever knew, and as the pre-level movie posters and end-level credits suggest, I always thought that each level was sort of like a stand-alone zombie-film.

Crash Course suggested otherwise, connecting their mishap on the helicopter in No Mercy to their goal of reaching Riverside in Death Toll. It implied Valve was going for a storyline. *shrug*
Re: L4D2 DLC coming in spring... includes L4D1 survivors
L4D1 doesn't have a storyline, but L4D2 does. Valve's trying to give L4D1 a storyline with Crash Course, and now with The Passing. I do want my Louis ZOOOOEEEY back though.

So you're basically saying you'd rather know for sure you're gonna die rather than die knowing you at least tried to go somewhere supposedly safe? :ugh:

Thing is that you wouldn't know for sure. And if I wasn't sure, I sure as hell wouldn't try walking/hitchhiking/etc through MANY STATES just to get there, considering that would get you killed even faster. The point is not dying.
If the military came and picked you up (as in Blood Harvest) and took you to some outpost with food, water, and ammunition, you would consider your chances of survival there greater than if you just walked out and decided to take a little field trip almost 1000 miles long to HOPEFULLY survive long enough to find someplace "safer."
:P but hey, it's a game. We just assume they all eat nails for breakfast and ammunition is infinite.... cos it kind of is. XD

Of course if you'd been picked up by the military and are in a safe place already why leave. But, what I was getting at was the situation that it's a zombie apocalypse and you're unsafe where you are so for shits and giggles why not go where its rumored to be safe
