Not that slim, i had one that was fried/bitf*cked or whatever being brand new.
and vicky what did it do when u played games? anything like this?
The symptoms of a fried card are usually:
-constant lockups
-constant freezes
-constant crashing
-constant artifacting
-bad overall performance
-other graphical glitches
... And although it could still be something else, I'd still have to lean towards the broken card - unless if it's ONLY Halo 2 and CS that's showcasing this kind of behaviour in his computer.
i think u might be right, earlier also i cam back to it and it froze with just a screen saver up...
so ya that wasnt the prob but its still occuring...
??!!
Well did it change in any way? Do all games still crash and/or freeze?
Who built that computer? Maybe He/She made a sloppy job...
BTW, There's one important part of your computer that the DxDaig doesn't state - The PSU (=Power Supply Unit)
So, What is it? Is it giving enough power to your computer?
Caboose is right, the components of your computer might not be receiving sufficient power.
I think there may be a big problem with your video card. Do you have an integrated video card in your motherboard? If so, remove the Geforce 8600 or just disable it and run off the integrated to see if crashes still occur. If so, then your RAM or motherboard may be faulty.
If you bought it at bestbuy, let them figure it out. That pc should easily run h2v.
