Actually you have to craft 12 refined metals to get Very Refined metal. That's how you get the winning hat.

Also, I had the demoman's fro, heavy's football helmet, backbiter's billycock, sniper's solatopi, and I THINK thats it. I crafted those though.

If I could get the animations to import properly then I'd happily modify them so that the demoman holds his sticky launcher with both hands like he does in world. Then I'd release that as a skin.

Just keep crafting until you have one of every single item. Anything you have three of, craft two of them together.
Can craft something with an item for the same class to make scrap metal. 3 scrap metal = reclaimed metal, 3 reclaimed = refined metal, 3 refined = hat.
