funny, something similar happened to me. my room mate last year introduced me to a friend of his because he thought her personality would drive me fucking nuts. we clicked immediately, and i love her to death.
E: i read a book that explained the reason women go for assholes. the gist of it was that women enjoy emotional stimulation, and assholes make them feel "alive", while nice guys are just boring. wish i could remember what that book was called...
are we actually going to get into a serious discussion about this stuff? because ill try to dig it up if we are

Sorry about that, Ross, but I'm gonna go and tell the truth whenever I damn feel like it. For instance, your strange erotic obsession with planes. It's hideous, in fact its only redeeming quality is to divert attention from your stupidity.

lol are you literally ten years old?
serious question, you seem to have a comparable mental capacity. if md is one of the more educated states then hoo boy does that explain a lot
edit: okay i would like to remind everybody that the poster in question, higuy, is a mere 17 years old and presumably a spoiled little prick, he clearly has zero understanding of how the real world works because mommy and daddy still wipe his fat ass for him, and he also believes that homosexuality is unnatural and so gay marriage should not be allowed

Dear Plane Obsession Guy,
I'd like to inform you that you are an idiot. If you seriously take half of the things said on this forum as serious, and especially things coming out of my mouth on an online forum that I could sincerely care less about, then I'm going to definitely assume you have the capacity of a ten year old.
Lastly, you do not know me. For all I know your 'mommy and daddy' could be rich as the next guy and you could have you very own plane to jack off to. If that was the case it would help reinforce my last post.
Ladies and gentlemen, Plane Obsession Guy.

since the overwhelming majority of posters on this site are so unbelieveably stupid they couldn't find their own asshole with both hands, it is very difficult to tell, especially when they have a reputation for posting really stupid arguments in support of horrible opinions
also, trolling is not a catchall backpedal for when someone calls you out on your terrible posting. legitimate trolling tends to actually be witty, something most people on this site understandably have difficulty with since they all come from the cesspit that is 4chan and unironically believe any shitpost can be called trolling and that automatically makes you safe from criticism. nope, sorry, that is called shitposting and it is not funny or cool.

Maybe it's someone in a virtual plane that swoops down into the page with a big type of net, a dude sits in the back and catches up glorious posts such as mine, devours them to become more knowledgeable, and then they both ride away into the sunset.
And no, your not driving the plane. Or handling the net. Sorry.

I thought trolling was a artful form of making an individual infuriated or to illicit a reaction based on easily inflammatory verbiage in which the intended target makes a big deal out of it which is actually nothing.
-
Re: Oh I wish I was(n't) in Texas...
Here's the thing, it's not trolling since you actually believe the shit you post.

I seldom get mad, I am usually laughing it up with friends on Skype while dramatically reading all of you kids' terrible opinions. My posts just come off as mad because I swear a lot, I do it regardless of mood.
Also, because writing insults into my replies generally fires up even more terrible opinions to laugh at. It is like a perpetual motion machine.

lol, 'plenty of those'. You make them sound like they are tools for your enjoyment and pleasure. Which is quite sad that you can only make friends based on the "same" political alignment". Did you know that you can make friends with different views and still be happy? It actually makes things much more enjoyable because you are not influenced by ignorance.

Being on one side of the political scale is not a proper way to view politics though. You're not accounting for everyone else's opinions and beliefs, even if they are backward to you or have opinions that you find repulsive. Of course, go too far right and you have mind-washing Fascism. Go too far left and you have exploitable Communism. Point being, I believe having a conservative, yet flexible at appropriate times, approach to economics with a liberal, yet justified, sense of civil rights/liberties is proper. Being on one side means you're basically staying on your side of the fence and you don't give a damn about the other side, which when being a leader of any kind sets you up for disaster. I think being centralist makes more decisive sense since one relies more on research and information than emotion or tradition.

i have a lot of friends i don't agree with and a few i think have straight up terrible opinions, but i tolerate them because they tolerate me, so clearly i can trust them if we're so opposed yet get along.
on the other hand, i do not go out of my way to befriend people who love fascism or think that poors are RUINING ARE CUNTREE or whatever

The fact that you tolerate because they tolerate you makes me a happy camper. Thank you for clearing that up. I respect a good portion of your opinions from time to time because you know how to back your shit up. Other times I want to choke a bird until it squeels, when the wording 'terrible' or 'stupid' is used against opinions that are not half bad.

Glad to know this about you. Looks like Rossmum isn't so rossmad after all! But seriously, glad you're just not another asshole telling everyone else their beliefs are retarded without having people close to you who share different opinions.
I disagree with your last statement though. It's a very big stereotype and the fact that it is so is worrying about the state of politics in most 1st World Countries.

You know why that is? Because you are calling them stupid or using harsh language the first time around. You really think that someone's opinion is going to change based on that logic? Give me a break. You are better off having a proper and polite tone the first time around. But if the person seems to show huge signs of ignorance and not even consider your opinion, then just forget it.
Calling out someones opinions by using negative tone (even if they are the most open person in the world), is like forcing astronomic logic on a die hard christian. You will get no where the first time around.
I know your a smart guy sel, and I like some of your ideals and opinions.

Re: Oh I wish I was(n't) in Texas...
i do routinely annoy friends because i tend to give them shit over opinions i don't like as much as i would anyone else if they get brought up, so when i know it's likely to be a problem, i try to avoid the subject. one of my good friends i play arma with is a haaaaardcore libertarian and thinks i am straight up retarded for my views (he is from cuba, i can only assume his family were dissidents so i don't really blame him for having views as extreme as he does), but we both realise we will never agree on anything in that arena so we just keep quiet about it

You don't have much friends do you, talking to and about people in such an inpolite manner.
Go build a model airplane or something. And don't talk shit about people you don't know, loser :neckbeard:
so both accounts are located in the same country, and post within four minutes of each other, and both just so happen to hate me and appear magically from the aether mere days after i hurt poor babby higuy's feelings
the plot thickens

Re: Oh I wish I was(n't) in Texas...
Dear Ross,
There are many americans on this site.
There are many brits on this site.
Perhaps, just perhaps, there are at least multiple people from the lower lands (holland, belgium, luxemburg) on this site.
I was linked to this thread by my good friend bobblehob, "hey lode, rossmum is saying you posted under an alt account". The timepoints of the accounts posting is mere coincidence. If you really checked the IPs then I am absolutely certain you'd have seen they are different IPs. Located in the same country? Perhaps, who cares. I don't, I only have this one active account.
Also, I do not hate people I don't know.
I think you post like an absolute dumbass though, immediately thinking in the most paranoia way.
You rossmum need to buy some more airplanes to spend your time. Thinking up conspiracy theories is just something you're not very good at. I hear you build a badass model airplane though. Good for you!
Lmao man, it's dipshits like you why I don't frequent this forum often anymore. The lowest mankind has to offer, well done kid! :neckbeard:

let's go back to talking about how shitty america is

Re: Oh I wish I was(n't) in Texas...
lol, no surprise you've befriended one of the absolute worst posters on the site. please do keep slinging your angry little words at me, it's adorable. don't worry, i'm sure you're impressing the hell out of everyone with what a brave little man you are.
you know, you were much better at posting when you were still banned. probably because you weren't posting.

He may be a bad poster ross. But Higuy and Lodex were great artist and team members to work with during the Lumoria project. :)
Hell, I enjoyed their postings involving 3d art work which was basically the foundation of this website. But hey, Modacity's political discussions came into its own mold. Some people are just terrible posters and some are excellent posters in certain forum sections.

Re: Oh I wish I was(n't) in Texas...
being a good artist doesn't excuse people from being horrifically shitty human beings, which incidentally there is some historical precedent for

Re: Oh I wish I was(n't) in Texas...
Ah, there you go again, making idiotic generalizations as you always do.

I think that is a bit over the top. Being a poopy poster isn't the same as being a mass murderer, rapist, etc...
Poopy poster...I like that.

Re: Oh I wish I was(n't) in Texas...
In fact you make generizations in almost every post you make, you cry and scream and bitch when anyone has an opinion that you disagree with. As much as you tout the fact that you are okay with people having differing opinions, you don't seem to be able to tolerate it when anyone here does.
Sure, I have said my fair share of dumb shit on this forum, I know that, but most of what you refer to as "bad posting" has more to do with the fact that you disagree with my opinion, simple as that. Even people like Kingfisher who can present his arguments in a much more fluent manner than I can receive massive shit storm posts in response because of differences in opinion.

i am okay with different opinions when they are backed up with actual solid reasoning or, better yet, evidence. i have yet to see either of those coincide with your posting of opinions.

i think any well-adjusted and morally responsibly human being would disagree with your opinions, but maybe i grossly overestimate humanity

Re: Oh I wish I was(n't) in Texas...
People who agree with Ross=Well educated/adjusted; intelligent
People who disagree with Ross= ignorant fuckheads who clearly have no idea about anything
common man, not everyone is going to see thing the way you are. let it go

Well, considering that most if not all of my opinions that I have posted on this forum have to do with video games, and pertain mostly to subjective things. If you want to hate me over my opinions on games, be my guest xP I don't even remember posting any real opinions outside of that, excluding the one in the gay marriage thread, where I suggested a compromise between the two sides of the issue.

Generalizing once again I see. You really should drop this morally responsible human being crap, I am a morally responsible human being, but very little I say is going to satisfy your opinion of what is morally responsible because your opinions are rather extreme compared to mine and many others. You view the way that I think, and the way that anyone with conservative views thinks, as awful human beings. It took 4 or 5 people who can formulate their thoughts better than I can to even begin to convince you otherwise. You judge the morality of others opinions based on your own narrow viewpoint.
Think what you will, but I would appreciate not having to read your continuous rants about how much of a terrible human being (and lets not forget terrible poster) I am because of what little I have said on this forum.

Re: Oh I wish I was(n't) in Texas...
Our work aside, I don't consider myself, nor Higuy or Bobblehob to be bad posters.
But according to rossmum a bad poster = a person who is not in line with ross' airplane religion (and by extension: his opinions (NOT facts)). Shun the non-believers!
Cheers ross, I raise a bottle of sparkly water to your narrowminded principles!
