less talking, more coding release 4
My summer class set me back last week. I had to do a lot of reading, so I didn't have a lot of energy to work on the major Battery features (i.e. left-handed weapons). But I did spend a little time working on Salem, which I guess I'll uncover here. It's a server-side plugin that will hopefully end all aimbot accusations forever and ever.
But next week begins my 2 week summer vacation, followed by fall semester classes. So future releases will be much less frequent than the initial three.
I love the name :D
Anti-bot is win. I love you.
that is cool, bitterbanana. more people should give you rep so you won't be embarrassed by your tiny little green bar, compared to our massive ones :awesome:
I put the .dll file in the right place, installed the DirectX file, and tried to run it but nothing happened. please help!!
Any details on Salem? =p
Make sure the actual dll file is in the Halo directory and not inside a subfolder. Then when you're in-game, press F7 to see the menu.
I'm dancing over some big ideas right now, but I'm not going to announce them until I know they work. But there is progress being made.

It is the d3d9.dll right?
What folder is the Halo directory in?
oh, ill try that
it says could not find config.txt when i drag files over icon
i placed it in the folder w/ directory and halo ran fine but nothing happened, again...
Rabbid, the edit button is your friend. Do not double post, let alone triple post.
sry bout that, im kinda new
By the way do i hav to run the halothirdFOV window while doing this?
No, that's a completely different thing; this is a stand-alone plug in that works as extra in-game options.
dang it, now I can't type in "was killed by (so and so)" or "died" any more, that takes all of the fun out of life. but oh well, I'll be happy when the Multi Team Vehicle thingy is release, the thing that really got me to look into Yelo.
Who ever said that was going to be released?
And maybe if you weren't so busy typing you could actually kill them :/
How does the ThirdFov work, anyway? It won't work either.
You need to be in a vehicle for the third-person FOV. I don't think that this app supports a third-person view while you're ground-based (and not in a side seat of the warthog, tank, etc.) yet. (I'm not saying it will soon, if at all, but there's always the possibility it might. *waits to be contradicted*)
edit: I'm just guessing on this, personally I never tried the thirdFov out. I just went off of the name.
Third person and FoV was an app done by Patrickssj, I think, and one other guy. Works well. I used to use it before Battery came out. Hopefully Battery will include third person as well.
OK, a couple suggestions on improvements (I'm too lazy to read the last 20 pages or so, I hope the stuff on the first page is the most recent):
1. Adjusting your weapons FOV could not only go on the X and Y axis, but the Z one, too.
2. It would be nice if you could select a master FOV for every weapon, and from there, you could personalize the FOV for each weapon, like if you have a Rocket Launcher or Fuel Rod, it would go over your shoulder realistically, instead of if you looked down, it would appear to go right through your stomach.
:O Anti aimbot sounds awesome. Thought you said it wasnt possible bitter :P nuther the less I hope it gets released soon :D
I'm talking about a single app. It's available on halomaps.
Halo opens, and then closes. D:
Sadly, I don't have it. D:
I recently found how to control other players if you are host. Each player is assigned a number as they join your server. If you assign a players number to yours, you will freeze and you can control their movement and actions.
Well why is this useful? If they are botting, you hold shift, they will lock onto to other players. Yes, the host can see it, because they are controling them and the player you are controlling cannot see what is happening on his screen =] This is an idea I had for anti-bot but didn't know where to go with it. Just throwing it out there =p
Thats highly unlikely to happen in halo, if you were to control another player they would exception out. The bot is an auto-aim which is client only, only the person running the aimbot could use it.
how would you do that?
Also, I encountered a strange bug that may or may not be related to Yelo Battery. When I was playing Sidewinder, I noticed that the ice was really dull. I looked in my video settings and to my surprise I found that specular and shadows were off... I of course didn't turn them off. So I turned them back on, and suddenly I wasn't able to access any widescreen resolutions, or it would appear my HUD scaling options.
It's been almost a month since the last Battery release. I've mainly been focussing on Salem, relaxing, and summer school.
I had high hopes initially, but it's not looking good. Sorry about my precarious activity on this anti-bot, there's just a whole lot of tricky stuff involved. The school year's about to begin, so I don't think I'll ever finish it.
I haven't been encountering very many cheaters on PC/CE. People get tired of cheating; it becomes sickening. So it's possible that the problem has taken care of itself.
You, along with a few others, are having the same problem. I'm assuming it has to do with my poor D3D management. Some people's machines tolerate it, but others don't. I'll go back and try to clean it up when I get the time.
Summer vacation just started for me. This project is officially on hiatus until you hear back from me. Seacrest out!
I know he already declared Haitus, but is there anyway to make this thing work with XFire? I believe it worked on Beta 2 once for me, but that was it...
Tools>options>chat and uncheck "show chat messages ingame".
umm, actually, my Halo won't start up when XFire is on and when I have Yelo Battery in the CE/PC folder. it worked once, but then it didn't.
Sorry, i don't want to bug any of you, but I have absolutely no idea how to get this running. The instructions just aren't clear to me. I'm trying to run it with Halo Custom edition, I have the plug-in things, I installed the Directx web thing... the plugins are in the EXACT same folder as Halo CE, not a subfolder... but this isn't working... can anyone please help me?
EDIT: I've read through the whole topic and haven't found much, and no, I am not an uber noob, it's just my first day here.
Many people have had that problem (Me included) bannana hasn't found the solution to it yet. So just head down to the "Does Yelo Plugin work on your on your computer?" thread.
I made a mistake about that. You sure you put the files in there, if you just extracted them, the folder the files were in might have been extracted with them. So Check your Halo CE Folder and look for a folder called "CE" If you do, you should find the files in there. Take them out and place them outside of the CE folder.
i didn't get it either... so i did what banana said, and it gives me an exception error when i start either halos..can someone help me out on this?
just a thought..is it okay to have the halothirdFOV with the dll?..just wondering.
Shouldn't have a problem. If your sure that you followed bannanas directions completely and without mistake please go here:
http://www.h2vista.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4440
Follow the first post's instructions too :l.
okay, I need the "dxdx9_33.dll" with the other .dll file in my Halo CE/PC root folder in order for it to work, why did Bitterbana not include those files in the updates and keep them in the first release, later on deleting the first file from his post completely now I can't get that dll back?...
how do you get it to work on windows XP professional ??:confused::confused::(:confused2:
Wait i thought it was the "d3dx9_33.dll"
Here is the "d3dx9_33.dll" CLICK ME
If it is the "dxdx9_33.dll" then I don't have it.
I know this is off subject, but I tried ThirdFov in a vehicle and it gave me an exeption. What do I do?:confused:
I have a question, why doesn't it work on vista. The only person I know has it working on vista is Timo. What am I doing wrong??
Did you download the DirectX runtimes like it said in the Readme? Jcap also has it working on vista.
Yes I did. I checked my win32 folder and I have the d3dx9_33.dll in it. So I am stumped.
heres a joke: neither when i join, score a kill or get killed my nickname shows up since i copied the d3d3.dll into my folder. You erased me out of existance Mr. Yelo :(
Srsly how can i fix that or is there any backup d3d9.dll around?
If it's a string file in the Halo CE/PC root, I might be able to send it to you, if I were able to post attachments.
That helped indeed i can see my name again.
:/
possible bug: when you kill someone, it will display the number of kills you have, no matter what gametype you are playing.
Also, are there any plans to put all kill messages in the message area (as opposed to the chat area)?
Can anyone help?
We can't really help you without knowing what you need help with. Could you please tell us what help you need?
Did you download the directx from the link provided in the readme. Because if you did then your having the same problem as me. And so far there is no answer to it.
well that sucks..i guess i'll just wait untill then
There's no need for ThirdFOV in a vehicle. It's already a third person view in it. And the program supports third-person view while you're ground-based or in a warthog side seat. It doesn't support first-person in a driver or gunner seat.
Let's get back on topic now.
fov in a vehicle can change the camera's distance from the vehicle, effectively. Sometimes it has a cool effect. Now, being able to actually move the camera to different locations around the vehicle would be awesome.
wen i put the ded9 file in the halo ce directory and then start up the halo ce i get this, "This application has failed to start because d3dx9_33.dll was not found." then press ok, then i get the HALO FATAL ERROR, and it says "We are sorry, but u need to have directx 9.0b installed to run this program. Please run the halo pc setup again to install DirectX", i uninstalled the HALO from my pc, and only have the CE version. plz help me out.(o ye and i have some different backround on my halo ce, looks like the library mission)
Did you get the DirectX Runtimes?
Well I'll try that but it also didn't work for me on Halo PC so I dunno whats going on for me.
Yeah...It just doesn't like me!
I downloaded the release one because the other ones wouldn't work
I followed your directions and put the PC folder files INTO the Halo PC directory. DOES NOT WORK....what happened!
Uhh what happens when you try to start halo?
Did you paste the actual PC folder into the Halo PC root or just the files?
Did you get the DirectX Runtimes?
Most of the time it says the other file wasn't found.
Yes, I have DirectX Runtimes
Yes xfire is turned off but it gives me an exception.
Yes same thing with me. As bitterbanana said earlier "it is just a rare bug that some people are getting." He is going to fix it when this project if off Hiatus
So I can't use it yet....
does the old fov hack work for earlier versions if it does link me man
and will yelo work for earlier versions also?
We only support the latest versions of Halo PC and CE
Why even stick with the old versions?
Does anyone know what is causing that bug that doesn't let it work on some PC's??
Yeah, its not working for me.
Current workload is pretty heavy right now. There won't be any more releases for a long time. Might be safe to assume it's discontinued for now.
Oh.
Ok.
/is sad/
You've done a great job on it though, Kornman and Bitterbanana. I really appreciate it.
can someone give me a video on how to install and make the Yelo thing work, i dont know how to make it work. I put the CE folder in my halo custom edition directory and still wont work.
You don't put the CE folder into the haloce directory. You put the files IN the CE folder INTO the haloce directory.
i can never get this to work
i put the files in the halo dictinary but it says that the ddl is missing
lol dictinary...directory**
All you're doing is moving the d3d9.dll into the folder, you're not replacing any other .dll, you should leave those alone.
i did put it and it still no work
This is for normal halo:
I've installed it and put the files in the right places. installed the direct X thing as you ordered. And its worked jsut fine for me. Except: It always does an illegal operation the first time. The second time it just closes itself down(no aimbot) It works the third time. But when I put the console command in to host with, the game jsut get past taht little opening screen, then shuts down. I reinstalled halo wiping the halo directory to try it with a fresh copy of halo. (I did not delete profiles) but its still gets past that little screen showing the logo where its checking the CD then jsut closes itself down.
I've removed the console command and it does that little performance but other than that its just fine. Is there a way to use this while hosting or am I jsut stuck without it whenever I host?
If you search DirectX in microsoft.com you'll get what you're looking for (the latest directx for XP users should be DirectX 9.0c)
It is not something you put in the directory btw.
where exactly do i put the dll?
Read, the Readme that came WITH the file you downloaded. It SAYS it.
Here, I'll quote it for you:
