Output is focused, intake is not.
also, point of interest, jet engines work by burning fuel to create expanding gas, so more is going out than going in.
Though I believe the majority of thrust from typical commercial jet engines comes from the air that is moved and not the exhaust that is created.
e: let's all make noob feel dum compared to our obviously far superior intellects!
This guy had to get pretty damn close to get sucked into this jet's engine, which is several times more powerful than a helicopter engine.
