HEY KID, BUY PREMIUM NOW. HEY KID, YOU WERE KILLED BY againtdildoface PREMIUM USER. HEY FAGGOT, BUY PREMIUM OR YOU WILL DIE IN A FIREY PIT FILLED WITH FURFAGS AND SNAKES.
Yeah, I went ahead and bought it the minute it came out anyway...
Oh god, I wish the 360 version ran at 60FPS. Christ that trailer was amazing.
There's a part of me that wants to get it for PC when it's on sale for the glorious 60fps and better graphics, not to mention better player base and the much higher player count on servers. But I don't feel like going through and unlocking everything again, or paying another $50 for premium
If I ever did get in on PC I would not even remotely bother unlocking everything again. I'd buy the ultimate shortcut bundle and premium again. The PC version of BF3 would cost me more than my graphics card.
With Double XP Weekends, it takes no time at all to unlock if you are a decent player. If you play a lot of CQ, you will level disgustingly fast.
Nothing, but its still outrageous that you are paying almost the full price of another game just to get a few map packs and extra weapons (which the origional BF3 included a full fledged single player campaign and like 10 mp levels with plenty of gametypes and weapons included). The DLC by itself is like 15 dollars each if I recall correctly, which is also steep. Its really a shame that BF on the pc does not have any modding tools to make custom levels.
this. it's more than a shame, it's caused a landslide in industry standards. All thanks to COD being disgustingly successful on PC with $15 4-map packs. people keep defending BF3 premium by saying the maps are "better quality" than COD map packs, but really, are they that delusional? Have they forgotten what is arguably the chief advantage of PC gaming?
Do-it-yourself-DLC should be the standard. I don't mind paying for big expansion packs, but a small handful of multiplayer maps isn't worth paying for. I don't buy their crap that "the frostbite engine isn't user friendly" etc, it's nothing more than an excuse to fragment the community with paid DLC maps. Do-it-yourself DLC is why I've sunk hundreds of hours into Valve games and even COD4. Hell, it's not like consoles don't have the capability of DIY DLC - just look at far cry 1 on xbox, or little big planet on PS3. Now it's not to say that just because a game doesn't allow DIY DLC it's bad - some of my favorite games of all time have little to no modding capability at all. But it just feels insulting to have small "add-ons" shoved in our faces for a ridiculous price.
Just one more reason why BF2 > BF3.
