I gotta the admit, the Bay of Pigs mission was pretty damn fun near the end.
The ending was a bit too; "AMERICA, FUCK YEAH" for me, great game though. Especially loved the vietnam maps and the tunnels.
Played this. It felt exactly like modern warfare 2, except there were even more ridiculous kill streaks that made the game feel random and hectic.
TF2 has elements that are literally random, and it still feels less random than this.
been playing it on hardened. the Vietnam level objective where you have to get to the barrels is pissing me off to no end.
also what the fuck is this steam required bullshit? I got the physical copy in hopes of being able to LAN but apparently you are REQUIRED to have it connected to your steam account. horse balls.
E: just beat it. definitely like the way they did the story, it was a new experience for the series. reminded me vaguely of the new Wolfenstein for whatever reason...
only real gripes I have is the still-broken-and-now-seemingly-worse hit detection and the optimization.
Been playing this for a little while now with Teekup, it's definitely better than MW2. A lot of the stuff that was incredibly gay in MW2, like Commando or One Man Army, is gone. Basically, Treyarch's balance changes read like a list of everything I ever hated in the CoD series being fixed. Even Stopping Power finally fucked right off. Weapons actually do consistent damage now!
It's still not perfect though. The spawning system is pretty atrocious for deathmatch, the hit detection is a bit wonky sometimes, you can still forehead shoot, and the knife is still fucking cheap as hell. The weapons have even LESS recoil than in MW2, the FAMAS and AK-74u are OP as shit, and the sniper rifles have been nerfed to the point of uselessness (unless you use the ACOG)
So yeah, if you're looking to get the flavor of the month multiplayer game that everyone's going to have, I'd say it's worth it.
Happily playing Call of Duty 2.
Uh, Halo 2 and 3 played completely different from each other, mainly in terms of the weapons being beautifully balanced in the latter. What makes me even more happy about this is the fact that there's new animations and nothing was reused, but hell if anyone but me and ICEE give 2 hoots over something so "inconspicuous."
^ Did you expect a CoD game to not re use animations?
I miss the old Call of Duty style game play. I miss running through towns completing objectives as a normal solider, not Team America. I hate this whole idea of being stuck in one area smaller than Vatican city with a population of 30,000,000 people who all want you dead. Call of Duty 4 was fun. World at War had fun single-player. MW2 seemed like a 5 hour mash up of endless enemy spawns in tiny areas, and multi-player that went completely untested. Black ops has one of the most linear campaigns I think I have ever seen in my life, and the multi-player is fun sometimes, but player spawns and map designs really fail.
