What is weird is it looks crisp in 720 but not good in regular. And the video looks fine when I view it in VLC :| Stupid youtube.
Looking at that tutorial, I export practically the same way. Except with DXtory I export at 1280x720, and use that as the render settings and whatnot. There's no downsizing. I tried out the bitrate at 10k which worked great, but my file was about 460 mb, so I lowered it to 8k and uploaded. for my other videos I will change to 10k bitrate. And I render at 1280x720 because my monitor only does 1600x900 :(
Stupid youtube indeed. Upload at the highest res possible in the hopes that people will use it. I would have outputted a lot of videos at 720p or lower instead if Youtube didn't want to re-encode it to the most bullshit quality. H.264, though. As bang for your megabyte as you'll get. I mean, I'm no NeweggTV with powerful render PCs, unlimited storage, and beast upload. 1080p is your best choice, really.

With your hardware, why do you record at 720p? Record at 1080p like a real man. Also, what settings do you use for DXTory? I've followed a shit load of guides and not a single one of them produces a file that Vegas can open. I can watch them in all their unedited glory in VLC, but Vegas just refuses to open them. So far I've tried the regular DXtory, H.264, and Lagarith lossless codecs, but I can't get any to work in editing. Vegas just says unable to open the file. If it wasn't for this, I would have ditched Fraps a long time ago.

I may experiment with upscaling it soon to remove the black bars on the top and see how much the quality suffers for it.
Well, BF3 has been brought to its knees. The people who brought us the BC2 server emulator has now done the same for BF3 and is proving every statement that DICE said about server/mod tools wrong.

Just plant them like AT Mines at high traffic areas.

Re-download your game then. Aftermath and Endgame appear to have the highest resolution textures in the game, so they will naturally look better than base BF3 and even Armored Kill's spectacular maps.

Slug rounds in this game are ridiculous. Not as much as BC2, but still really good. 870 / spas12 with slugs is the only way to shotgun imo.
Frags are crap.
They didn't used to be; I swear they got a buff at some point. Buckshot is still better on the smaller maps (easier to make a head-shot with), but slug is no slouch and can be used at range in a pinch.Quote:

But really, I don't like buckshot because that limits me to getting in close to be effective, whereas slugs allow you to be somewhat less effective (but still very effective!) up close while also engaging things further out. I use shotguns with slugs for mid to point blank encounters so I can clear and lock down tight points.
The SAIGA with slugs is a bastard if anyone doesn't know by now. It's my go to weapon on Grand Bazaar.

You have to launch it through the Battle Log website. Thats where you find the server browser. Pick a server and click join, then your web browser will say "joining game", and then you'll see the BF3 window pop up.

I run as assault using the Saiga 12K and slugs along with the extended magazine as my primary. Secondary is the .44 because most of the time your target is already wounded and will die in a single round. I use the medkit and defibrilator, because health is the most important resource in CQ.
Sometimes, though, I will play support with it. If I do, I'm using C4 and the ammo bag. C4 is great for trolling the flags in Domination mode.
In either case, never stop moving forwards. You literally just have to keep running circles around the map, blasting anybody who gets in your way and doing drive-by resource drops. I once played a game that was so long I cracked 120 kills and my score was upwards of 30,000. It's pretty filthy. You can see by my sig that the Saiga 12k is one of my most-used weapons.
So I was kicking some ass in a BC2 server earlier, winning games, sharpening my twitch aim with the sniper rifle. Suddenly these 3 guys with the same clan tag jump into the other team and start destroying the lead we had. They were clearly in voice comms because they were way too organized to not be planning attacks. Realizing we had no hope of beating them without an equivalent squad of organized people, I team chat "Hey, these brofist guys are in comms and we're not going to beat them unless we start talking too. Who has a mic and wants to squad up with me?"
Five minutes go by, we lose every point, start getting baseraped, and nobody even says a word to me in the chat. This happens every single time. The people who play this game are retarded. If this player base is anything to go off of, humanity is fucking doomed.
I'm going to try that. I don't play BF as religiously as I used to. Will clearly change with BF4.

Both, you can't load the MAV with any explosives, nor can you destroy the COM with explosives, you actually have to arm them, atleast in BF3
he was referring to when we did it in Bad Company 2. We were about to lose our last 3 tickets when I jumped on the UAV and we had the idea to strap C4 to it, pooky and 4 other people did it. I had the UAV barreling across the ocean onl Valpariso and slammed the mother fucker into MCOM B and just shouted NOW!!! into the mic. A dazy cutter of C4 went off and killed 4 people in the process. We eventually won the whole game.
So would anyone think getting the premium would be worth it this late?
If you can get it for like, $20 or under, then yeah I'd say its worth it. You miss out on a ton of content if you don't have the new map packs. That, and some of the DLC guns are the best guns in the game (which is bullshit but whatever).

A lot of the DLC was worth it, CQ I'm still meh with, but End Game and Armored Kill are awesome, despite some balance issues I still have with AK Rush.
Also i figured out what my problem was. When i launch the game from origin, it loads the web browser. What i didn't realize, was that it was defaulting to my XBOX profile so I couldnt find the match browser or anything. Thankfully I was able to change this so I have the server browser now.
I started out using my AEK but then switched to my M60 and M417 when everyone started dicking around with theirs. Needless to say I think I kicked ass...
