"From the beginning, you know the end."
It's a prequel, pure and simple.

isn't there still spartans alive on a planet I thought was reach but which one? I've only read the fall of reach but i coulda swore i read about a spartan team MIA somewhere. Well i'm not sure if I'll automatically assume it's a prequel only because it's TOO obvious. I'd like to believe they're actually planning something surprising but hey it's bungie. Probably will be a prequel.
Well i guess that count's you out, you like to pretend you know things when you don't, you've shown this many times recently.
Before you accuse me of trolling again, Don't.
The pillar of autumn or any ship that has been classified for in atmosphere flight would presumeably beable to you know, fly in atmosphere otherwise why would captain keyes land the ship on halo and why or how could the covenant repair truth and reconcilliation so it could fly again?
Oh man tough guy on the internet!!!
Generally speaking, spaceships are for flying in space. But hey, like I said earlier, Halo constantly contradicts it'self. The books say one thing, the games say other. So why are you trying to argue when there's not even an answer?
Yet, you're trying to throw my whole theory out on the basis "ships can fly in atmosphere," when you haven't even bothered to address any of my other points.
This thread is for E32009, if you want to continue this make another thread or we can take this over PMs, rather than derail this thread..
The books, none of it has EVER SAID that ships CANNOT FLY IN-ATMOSPHERE. The ONLY thing that has EVER been said about the Halo universe's ships is that they cannot JUMP in-atmosphere FOR SAFETY REASONS. THAT IS IT.
Jesus christ, man, this is science fiction we're talking about. SHIPS ARE CAPABLE OF ANTIGRAVITY. IT'S A GIVEN. It's assumed that they are unless the story explicitly states otherwise. Halo has never stated that ships cannot fly in-atmosphere.
... they already said Reach takes place during the Battle of Reach on the planet Reach. They even specifically mentioned "oh, yeah, that happens before Combat Evolved." just in case you forgot.
If there's one thing Bungie doesn't do, it's blatantly lie.
e: In Halo 2 and Halo 3 they flew a bunch of ships in-atmosphere, and they talk about doing it quite a bit in the books.
Masters, yet again, pulling bullshit out of nowhere to support his take on a subject, despite the facts being blatantly out there, in text, against him. He says something really fucking dumb, then can't admit it because he's too prideful, ignorant and stupid. Always on about how everyone else should change, while he exhibits a nasty character flaw.
Masters, you have (yet again) been proven wrong on all accounts. Do you have the fucking balls to admit it? DO YOU?
Hey, can we either move this flamewar to the Halo: Reach thread or just delete it? This is getting annoying (again).
On the thread's topic, I noticed there was a lot of stuff about the New Super Mario Bros., but not about Mario Galaxy 2. Didn't they have a demo for both?

look jem theres a spacecraft flyin' in atmosphere!
woah scout that's just boo radley tryin' to spook us
You never said you were wrong, you only implied it. I believe what snaf was looking for was a statement from you saying, "I am wrong."
SHUT THE FUCK UP ALL OF YOU
If you all continue to argue I will ban all of you, except Masters, becuase he'd find some way to martyr himself with it and I'd be forced to deal with an even bigger increase in his ego.
bu-bu-bu-bu-but if I admit I was wrong how will my ego ever be the same?
I don't know if it was that that bugged me so much, but all their faces looked cartoon-like to me.
Ditto. I really didn't like that at all. It just didn't feel... right... compared to what I've gotten used to in the other games.
I think it was a bit more pronounced here, though. That or it could be the bad quality of recording off the screen messing with my perception.
Macho talk and sexual tension. Great.
Yeah, they seriously need to fix the animation and character's look.
I lol'd at how the first cut scene looked like some cheesy robot-chicken skit. Just paste on one of those paper mouth things they use in the show and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference =P.
Could be that the cutscene sequences are incomplete / just rough draft.
Thought about Reach:
Perhaps you just play through the story of the fall of reach, as a spartan most likely, whether it be 117 or not. The campaign plays until the planet is glassed, then does a "___ years later" thing. You pick up where halo 3 left off, the planet is Reach, and you end up rescuing the lost spartans from when the planet was glassed or something.
Personally, I think that would be fucking awesome.
In the books, iirc, the surviving Spartans were all rescued before the events in Halo 2.
While that may be true, this was never talked about in the games, and if they were, wouldn't they have been in halo 2? It could still be possible, as it would still fit with the storyline of the games, but not the books.
Yeah don't they all end up on onyx or something like that? i havent read them in years.
