Like I said before, we will all have to jump on some sort of voice communication software at the same time and idle at the main menu of the game. Only there can we add each other as friends and have it work.

I just recently reinstalled 2142. I was real hardcore in it long ago. I even have the special preorder SCAR. Though some people argue that it covers too much of the screen, I was never bothered by it. It's coolness was well worth it.
Anyway, my friends list works fine. I'll try adding some of you
Must. Get. PC version.
There is a dirth of 360 players, and PC controls are way better anyways.
Really, I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. Either I have a split personality, you've substituted me for someone else in your memory, or you were standing next to an AA gun whore who needed some killin'. I'm pretty adamant in my position on base raping. I froth into a righteous fury over it.
I was playing on a server that had a defined zone around uncaps, if you killed a player in that zone you were killed automatically by the server. This was on Atacama Desert, I can't tell you how annoying that was, having someone on AA in their base and not being able to kill them...
They should implement a system where you can kill them if they are in uncaps, but if you venture into them or into the airspace above them, it will kill you after a set amount of time (say, five seconds).
I seem to remember in the beta at least for a short time there was a area where the defenders couldn't enter or the server would notify you of being outside of the battle zone.
This greatly reduced the amount of spawn killing when I was playing.
