Except that our higher population has breed all kinds of idiots. Canada doesn't seem quite as stupid. The election was split by two competing parties Sel. Maybe they will unite and crush the conservatives next time?

Ignatieff really didn't do much to dispel those attacks on his patriotism by resigning from party leader position after he lost...

His incompetence led to the Liberals being essentially wiped out and in all likelihood being made completely irrelevant by the time 2015 rolls around, if he tried to stick around he would've been purged anyway
