Yes, agreed. Because different drugs and stuff were used with the augmentation processes, it is highly unlikely the Spartan III's can wear it. (But hey, it's science fiction. If Bungie wants the Spartan III's to wear the Mark V or Mark VI armor, the Spartan III's will wear the Mark V or Mark VI armor. They'll just say that the Spartan III's were just as strong and fast as the Spartan II's)
The only content i see for this SPI armor is some modded H1 MC geometry, with some extrusions and shit. Blah.
It's a completely custom model WOL.
Don't forget, CMT does not support and does not rip anything for their final works. (Maybe they do for object placeholders until they get the final one done, but no releases since Coagulation have had ripped content.)

Well, there's some firing sounds, a few base textures. Perhaps a skybox or two but I'm not sure. I'm not saying CMT are rippers, I'm saying not everything is absolutely 100% custom.
