I kind of like the larger biomes though- feels a lot more realistic than the mini-biomes we had before. Dunno why there would be ocean beyond 200,000 blocks though o_o
BETTER LET US MAKE OUR OWN BOATS.
It's the new generator. The farther from the center the higher the chance of getting ocean biomes until everything is just one big ocean.
That's pretty lame. I mean, it makes sense, but part of Minecraft is the concept that the world is perpetually automatically generated. There are no limits - not even the map. If they are going to start restricting your explorable area, that sucks.
Chris, got a case of [citation needed] going on.
The ocean biomes are awesome, once Zepplin mod gets ported to 1.8 it's going to be incredible. For all you manly men out there, follow these instructions:

Too busy to go find the minecraft forums post about it.
How long would it take to reach 200 000 blocks if traveled in a straight line?
~15 hours.
15 hours still is quite a bit though, combine that with exploring most of the land within a 200 000 radius and you're going to have alot of exploring to do even with this new limit. For me personally I probably still won't ever hit the endless ocean within this limit. But yeah I can understand how some more hardcore players won't like this, the thought of an endless world is just plain cool.
