Re: [GALLERY] Chains Scribbles
I'm not cocky. Your just being a dick about how you take your crit. You know your wrong and wont want to fix it. That doesn't make me a cocky bastard like you put it. Either act your age, or stop being a fuck who thinks he is all that. Seriously, you cant call it art if it doesn't look good. Just because some random dude in the old day was on drugs and spilled random paint strips everywhere and now its being sold for lots of money, doesn't mean you can do that, and think it looks good.
Your perspectives are off. I suggest you go and learn the shapes on a human and the biology of a human, that create the shapes. Seriously, you really need to do this. You make alot of stuff wrong, like sometimes you make short hands compared to the body or weird shaped arms and stuff.
Second, your art is either blurred so badly (now your starting to stop doing that) and you are just making shades of color. Art isn't only about having a shape with shades. There is also details and other things to consider.
You are talking about my lion? OWAI, seems like I started yesterday, and still am able to make things look "nice but not amazing" as you put it. Really grow THE FUCK UP. Your such a prick. Talking about how we should be like kitties when talking to you, when your going around and talking like that to others. I had a reference, hell you should have one too. that's how you make things. You don't just go around making random shapes and go: Well I have an awesome drawing cause I didn't use reference.
Well then, thats your lose. I didnt trace, if thats what ur implying, your a dumb nut. Boba/flyinrooster can back me up cause they seen my broadcast it while I was making it.

Re: [GALLERY] Chains Scribbles
Proportions have been your weak point for a long time. Though I like the style you're going for, your work is never finished. Unfinished work, poor proportions, and what looks like rushed work really distracts from it. If you have the skill to make it better, let's see some it sometimes. I know you're still practicing, but you need to venture outside your comfort zone to improve. I'm not saying these things because I don't like your art style, or because I don't think you have any skills beyond this, I'm just giving my honest 2 cents here.
edit: the argument stops HERE

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. :-3
I realize this post may make a few of you upset. And in my own defense, I'm not angry or anything, just thought I would calmly state my opinion.
So anywhozle,
Your paintings do have some trouble with proportions, practice makes perfect. Go crazy with colors, most famous artists did. If you're doing it for fun, who should try to stop you?
Also, finish some of your damn work Chains! :v:

I think posting work in the studio is an open invitation to crit. The crit thread that I made was simply made to post small bits of work that didn't deserve a thread or a post in a gallery. This thread isn't only where he posts his work, but it's a place for discussion. Really, nobody is going to say "I love it, nice work" if that's not their opinion. Would it be fair not to post any crit in his thread? I don't think so, it's hard to improve by hearing praise only. There's no rule against posting crit in here either, and as much as it's Chains' thread, it's a message board centered around creative work.
Re: [GALLERY] Chains Scribbles
Chains, not using references when they are clearly needed isn't something you should be proudly beating your chest about. The barbarian looks okay but it's quite clear that you didn't use a reference because the anatomy is so far off. Use some next time, and it will look much, much better.

And I agree. I just think sometimes people get personal and a bit anal about giving crit. They tend to think they are gods who know what is right for the other person. Which is usually not the best way to approach giving crit. Crit should always be constructive. Not a shouting match at who knows more. Crit can be welcomed or ignored, but it should also be given in a manor that it can be accepted without invoking eRage.

Muscular sand nig..
I actually think it's pretty neat, the ball ( eye? ) on it's head seems to kind of pop out.
