I always just make my own from "scratch" (aka... buy the noodles, cheese, milk, butter, separately) because it's SOOO difficult to make... Seriously, it takes about two minutes longer to make mac and cheeese that won't destroy you.
One cup of velveeta mac and cheese (a box makes about 3 cups) has about 940 MG of sodium in it.... which... in any given day, given you're healthy and not black you're supposed to have no more than 2,300 MG.... one box of that horrible shit is 2820 mg all by itself.
Lets say you have high blood pressure or have diabetes or are black.. you're only supposed to have at most like 1500 mg of sodium a day... so that's less than half a box of this stuff.... and that's assuming this is all you're going to eat that day.
Now I know this isn't a health thread or anything, just... I felt absolutely fucking miserable after eating that shit for the first time last night. I looked at the box and said "Well, I don't need the milk or cheese or butter or anything... so I can cook this while driving!"... and I did. And it just.. wasn't pleasant at all... and not because I cooked it while driving, but because the product itself should be illegal.
Low quality noodles + low quality cheese product + SHITTON of preservatives != a manly meal. It creates high blood pressure and makes you feel like diving into traffic.
TL;DR?
FUCK VELVEETA SHELLS AND CHEESE, THAT SHIT WILL KILL YOU.

Well I've never eaten a whole box before. I'll try making my own next time, I just started making pizza completely from scratch. Get a block of mozzarella and make my own dough etc. Tastes much better.
