Thanks! The game is really fun though. I hadn't played for about 8 months, but I got back together with my friends (we had a little...let's just call it a misunderstanding so things weren't that good between us for a while) and it's great, even though I keep losing due to a lack of HQ units.

Wow, that's a huge improvement since your August posts. I hope you guys don't mind if I start posting some of my Blood Angels, but I really don't have anything to show since I just started painting again, and I've still got school on top of that. Here is a freehand I've done and also two guys that I've painted along time ago. I have since finalized my painting "recipe" and have started using badab' black on all my guys. The recent tactical marines that I've done (and don't have images of) look much darker and grimier. My friends often made fun of my old paint jobs as they were too vibrant and red. At least I learned how to thin down paint and do even base coating early on:realsmug:
Yeah, I still can't believe how much better they look now compared to before. I kind of miss the whole aspect of everything being new to me though.
And yeah, don't mind you posting stuff. :downs: To be honest, I'm really interested to see what kind of stuff other people do Warhammer-wise on Modacity, since I know that a lot of people on here have it as a hobby. As long as everybody admits that Chaos Space Marines are better than everything else, then it's all good :downs:
Also, I'm gonna be starting a Tyranid army soon, just letting y'all know. And I'm also planning on getting a Chaos Warlord Titan sometime as well.
Re: World Eaters rule! Totaly better than Iron Warriors anyway.
Sorry for the double post, but it's update time again! Here's one guy I finished not too long ago who will be a part of a squad of three. I would show you guys the other two, but one of them isn't done being painted yet and has another small bit of modeling work to be done on him, and the last guy is still in the process of being modeled.
So, here he is, my first of three Chaos Obliterators!

You may be asking "Why didn't you just buy the regular Obliterator model?" Well, let me explain. First of all, I really hate the look of Obliterators, being the big fleshy ugly things they are. I'd rather have the look of a heavily armed/armoured badass with lots of weapons. Secondly, the models are metal, which is a pain in the ass to put together and the paint seems to peel off, even with primer. Thirdly, they cost 35$ each. I decided I'd rather spend 60$ on a Chaos Terminator kit, convert three of them into Obliterators, and use the last two as actual Terminators and then stick them with that old metal Terminator which was shown at the beginning of the thread, as well as a Chaos Terminator Lord (which I'll be getting soon I hope). In plus, it gives a bit more uniqueness to my army.
And before you ask, no, the other two Obliterators do not look the same as this one, though they do follow a similar design idea. I got some extra bitz from my Dark Angels friend, but I didn't want to go buy a second squad just to get some weapons, so keep in mind that I'm doing what I can with what I have.
I hope you've enjoyed this update, and don't forget that comments and criticism are appreciated!
Re: World Eaters rule! Totaly better than Iron Warriors anyway.
Alot of peopler at the local game shop (Above Board Games) prefer to do custom models, gives a lot of unique life to the armies being played. My friend matt does it with his nids. He turned a Carnifex into a giant bladed spider, twas intense.
Nice job on yours as well, never been a fan of chaos though.
Re: World Eaters rule! Totaly better than Iron Warriors anyway.
The thing about metal models IIRC is that they need a bit of a scrubb (small amount of soap/detergent and a soft toothbrush) to get the mold lube off them. That's what causes the peeling paint bullshit.
You've come a hell of a long way Hotrod, really pleased with the way these guys are going. I like the background for the blue dudes, I always like to see people mixing other elements into their DERP MARINES. ;)

Thanks, that picture was actually taken last summer hahaha, I really have not been painting at all. But* just over the past month that dreadnought is about to be finished...

That's just another reason why I'm not a fan of regular Space Marines. All their infantry look pretty much the same with nothing to tell them apart, while CSM have a variety of different helmets, bodies, etc. to make them all look different.

Thanks! I'm really glad to see how much better I'm doing now compared to before. As I was posting these updates, I took a look at the first pictures I posted back in August and man...huge difference. I'm also planning on getting a ForgeWorld Khorne Dreadnought and painting it in the same blue colour scheme as the termies, just to add a bit more contrast to the mass of red in my army.
And thanks for the tip for the metal models! I'll have to keep that in mind next time I get one, which will probably be soon with Kharn now that I think about it.

I just realised that there is a pistol in Mass Effect 2 called the Carnifex.
Mind = blown.

Carnifex is Latin for "butcher".

Isn't it also some sort of crab thing?
