That's awesome! :)
Glad people are enjoying it enough to record stuff like this!
Right now I'm thinking that I will be canceling the gameservers.com server and hosting on the VPS exclusively, but I'll give it until at least Monday before I make up my mind. Yes the VPS is in a less ideal location (LA instead of Chicago), but it's the same price for basically 2-3 servers there. And I can scale it up a level and get 4-6 servers for MUCH less than gameservers.com offers.
Here is a game idea:
Map: putput
Describtion:
Create cuboid areas for each room in sapps areas.txt. With the event_aenter event replace a players weapons on entry of the room with rooms specific items/weapons.
Make custom variables (e.g. var_add room1 4) for each room to keep track of which player achieved a kill in which rooms.
The game ends when a player killed at least one enemy in every single room.
The interesting part is the different rules/weapons for each room. For example in one room everyone could have camo and rockets and in another room sniper rifles or melee only or no shield or just one bar health or or or or
That's a very awesome idea!
I seem to recall being able to let SAPP load a specific configuration depending on the map and/or gametype name, so this could definitely work and even be added into the existing mapcycle. Assuming I'm right and that is actually a thing I'm remembering correctly.
Oh man that guy's IP is in his video :/
Oh well, at least he left in the bit at the end where I go ham.
The only problem I see with the putput thing is players just not going into the last room so the lead player can't get the kill he needs.
Then again, I doubt Halo PC players would do that. Xbox Live probably, but not here.
eventually you'd get 2 players on the last room and they'd have to end it (assuming that there's 3+ players)
