I was thinking some new type of Sentinel, a more advanced bipedal type that could be deployed for more hardcore tasks.
Because well know that we should never, ever, actually see anything Forerunner that isn't mechanical/technological that they left behind on their installations.

E: That's an interesting idea lancer. Maybe far later on in the Great Infection as the Forerunner were losing their population, they began developing bipedal sentinels.
I was thinking a hybrid organic/mechanical thing, but not just a suit for the Forerunners because they're all dead (or should be). Then I figured that pure mechanical/technological would probably be more appropriate since the Forerunners endeavors into biological science resulted in the Flood, likely a mistake they wouldn't want to make again.
