ATTN: new Gmod players

I wish I could get Gmod 10...
I just caved and got Gmod 7(only because it's the latest version that works).

Sorry for the double post.
One of my friends told me to change 220 in the gameinfo file to 320, I tried it and it started, but stoped after gettign to the loading screen.
"Engine Error.
MountFilessystem( 251 ) failed: SteamMountFilesystem(236,241,0x166cfd64=,0x166cfc5 4) failed with error 5: No Steam Content Servers are availble"
How do I get past this?

Why can't you get gmod 10?

Just mow some lawns or something and get yourself $10 :|

It's not the money, it's that my mom and dad won't use theyr credit card for a mod.(They think it's a scam...)

Anyways, since Gmod 10 is out of the question, anyone know how I could get past the error?

EDIT: I was looking at the addons, and I noticed when you click on the wire mod link, it says "File could not be found", might want to take that link off, atleast untill you can find the workig link.

Remind them that people associated with large, successful companies (Valve) are most likely not scam artists. :facepalm: (That is if they're willing to pay the sum of 10$)

If it's the fact that its a mod and not a full game, remind them that it's only 10$ and that its distributed through Steam.

Sadly, I've allready tried that... You don't want to know what appened after that...

Updated with info on how to get Gmod9 as well and made the "how to install addons and maps" bit a bit clearer.

Havin't been on here in a while, glad to see there's been an update.
Also I got Garrysmod 10 a week ago( I hate having to wait months when someone promises something for the next day).

Yeah, there's a couple good Portal guns, but I don't have the link off-hand (nor do I have the resolve to search for it, I'm tired as FUCK).
