I just died a little inside. IW is officially now on the same level as EA.
Actually they are at a lower level than EA ever was. EA is actually coming back a little now that they are under new management. At least Digital Illusions CE (DICE) is still putting PC as their first priority.
I seriously can't believe they removed LAN play though. That is the number one thing you rely on for a LAN party. Why should everyone have to be connected to the Internet in order to play with the people who are all in the same room?

You'd essentially have to have FIOS (and even then, i dunno) to be able to have that many players connect in one location like that.

This may work well and all for mindless fuck 12 year olds (whose parents are suppose to buy the game for them, but will ultimately blame developers for their too mindless acts if the child fucks up), but in order for me to actually justify wanting to progress further is having an actual goal I'm trying to accomplish. If I wanted to just shot shit I would fire up Firefight. At least then I get some variety with it as well.
Also, if any reviewer tries to claim that level as controversy then look up their GTA or Saints Row review. You've been able to kill innocent bystanders for years now, there's nothing new about it in games and it is a completely mindless action in this one. Really though, you could go the whole mission by just shooting the airport security only. There really is nothing special about shooting up "civilian" NPCs.
i think it was supposed to be like a morally questionable grounding story telling aspect.
kinda like DEATH FROM ABOVE in COD4 and the nuke scene.
Re: The Upcoming CoD: MW2
I personally think it would have been better had they made the opening credits "FEAR-style" with scenes of the airport being shot up by terrorists. They probably could have gone out even more and added in different acts of terrorism from different places in the world, as noted in the small CIA cutscene before the airport level by the blips on the map.
What I mean by that style is the way they did it in the first game. It would cut in and out of scenes, telling the prequel to the game, all while the opening credits are running.
Hell, I'd redo this entire game if I had the chance. :|
Oh, and while I'm on the note of credits, I really want to say that the opening credits in Modern Warfare ROCKED HOUSE, while the ones in MW2 blow ass.
Re: The Upcoming CoD: MW2
I just came back from closing my midnight launch for this game.
Fuck Modern warfare 2.
Thats all I have to say, I got my money back and so did all my employees.

You mean where you question if IW is seriously and knowningly trying to rob you of your money with this crap they are selling? To con, or not to con? That was their question.
Oh wait! It's "new IP"! We can't compare it to CoD: Modern Warfare :downs:

Yarr, IW, ye shall have no sale from me, matey.
Only as a form of protest, however.
