It is probably just Comcast's speed boosting. Some areas get the said boost because of competition from FIOS and the like, from what i've read. It only stays at those awesome speeds for a short time though. He may have a higher tier that comcast doesn't offer here though, so I could be wrong about his case. :pQuote:

I can get about 30% more speed when directly connected to my cable though... its fast enough for me I think...
EDIT: Don't buy a linksys router, they suck at port fowarding, at least with my experience with this damn thing... I have trouble doing aim file transfers XD

also, i retract my previous statement about my laptop's wireless. i have refreshed 6 times, and speedtest just hangs at 100% loaded when i try to access it from my wireless card. my fucking router is just a piece of shit. and LOL paladin.
Can wait for my ISP to increase my upload speed in the Fall...
