Seriously, you will LOVE higurashi, and we all know your hunger for loli and death.

If you do end up liking it though... don't get into it thinking it to be a horror anime. Many people mistake it for a horror anime. It isn't one; if you want a horror anime, you'll be dissappointed.

Alright I have a bit of a mindfuck here, and the weirdest thing is that it's real. Here's a copy of the French translation of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni-- er "Le Sanglot Des Cigales".



It's pretty unsubtle... you should spot it granted you know a thing or two about foreign rating systems. (Uh oh I sorta just gave it away didn't I? :3)

It's the rating, which is probably pretty obvious by now. By the PEGI, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, the original visual novel from which the anime was based upon is rated the equivalent of an E rating (7 and older). Before you ask, nope, nothing was censored at all.

Apparently, the PEGI refused to rate the game based on text alone, and in desperation, the company who localized it had the PEGI rate it based on the perfectly non-violent and light hearted mini-games that occur off and on.

Higurashi in all of its gorey, violent, and somewhat innuendo filled glory... with an E rating. Although this certainly says something about the PEGI, I mainly just posted this because I found it funny... so uh... lol.
