I meant that the gate should be smaller by comparison. I guess my phrasing was a bit off.

This is really my first model in maya. I am using the halo 2 chief as a reference, but I am going to make this custom. Right now I am refining the modeling, not adding details.





Any suggestions?

[edit] Btw, I've only been working on the legs, everything else is supposed to be blocky atm.

Its not that its that I can't find the buttons I want in 3ds. I'm gonna start off with plane modeling anyway (After I learn the basics).

i usually look at tons of wireframes of other peoples bipeds to see how they modeled parts, like feet or hands. It's a great way to learn how to do bipeds CORRECTLY.

srslytho, it worked pretty well for me to just head right in and learn as I went. And while I'm on the subject, I'll say that I still have a ridiculous amount left to learn.


Back on topic, I would srsly burst out in tears if this thread died at the hands of a flamewar. And thank you mech for posting something that isn't a gun. You guys' guns are awesome and all, but this was becoming the post your guns and guns only thread.
