Well, that explains the cave thing near spawn with glass blocks and pool like area.
I'm fine with removing warps and using McMMO.
I'm also infavor of like a tekkit style minimap ingame that allows you to place labels.

Minimaps are client-side mods, aren't they?
Also, I don't really know what Tekkit is.
I'm not really sure if it's a client mod or not.

Tekkit is a collection of mods that expand minecraft greatly. You can build different types of technology to increase "productivity" in the game.
It adds things like nuclear power, solar power, automatic quarries, and piping system to moved mined items into chests. That's only a small fraction of what is available.
I lagged like a motherfucker trying to use Tekkit in 1.2.5, not sure how it will go in 1.3. Also, I would prefer the server stay mildly vanilla...I know McMMO sort of changes that, but at least it doesn't completely change the game like Tekkit does.
I wasn't suggesting using tekkit, but just if it was possible, have a minimap ingame that was similar to the tekkit minimap.
Rei's Minimap
Client mod.
Anyone else get horrible horrible server lag when you get more then 20 people in a vanilla SMP server? Normally my server can handle well over 70 with bukkit and plugins. In 1.3.1 vanilla it dies after 20.
I'm really considering doing something different for this map. I'm considering using WorldPainter, Terrain Control, or even both to make our next map. I'm pretty sure we can get a lot more interesting and better terrain this way compared to random vanilla generation. 255 high mountains, for one thing. Another thing, you can add custom objects to be randomly generated on the terrain. Custom trees, shrubs, structures...anything that you can save as a schematic file, really.
That would be pretty neat. Would that mean no generated structures though? No mineshafts means no melons. No strongholds means no End. And even then then how would the nether and the end generate?
I've used Terrain Control before and it works fine with nether and the end. Terrain Control also supports structures from 1.2.5. If it updates, I'm sure it'll support temples as well.
