Really, I think they'd have gotten pretty well killed or captured after the school shooting, and imagine what a school shooting perpetrated by white supremacists would have done to the election...?

Yeah, exactly. And if Obama gets elected, he's going to have one hell of a duck and cover presidency.

Or FBI and CIA investigations into radical domestic terrorist hate groups would be accelerated and any people of interest would be caught before incident, while at the same time doing more through background investigations to military hopefuls and lack of travel to states where high powered rifles are not banned.
