Halomods finaly cuts ties
Looks like Halomods have finaly had enough of a few rogue staff members.
Il quote sourceguy on this.

Ever since i've been the admin of HaloMods, I've hated the horrible attitude of some prominent members of the site. I'm talking about GTAF, Tural, Veegie, Detox and some others. They often have no respect for other community members and approach many people in a nasty arrogant manner. They were ruining the atmosphere on the site, and inspiring other users to act similarly. My personal distaste for their behaviour and attempts to do something about this were not taken well. For a long time i've tried to make things work out, but things exploded after a series of events happened.
At some point I got wind of some staffers bitching about me behind my back on the HaloMods IRC, and I decided it was the last straw for me. I made up some false reasons to demote GTAF and Shadowkhas from the staff for this reason - as can be read in the logs Tural has posted online. (the fat guy in the picture is NOT me, ffs). Note that I in no way was planning to ban them - especially not Shadowkhas. I just believed that I couldn't work with them as a team. Anyways, I had a long chat with this about Tural and told him what I'd done and why - I wanted to keep Tural on the staff team. Alas, after a few days Tural decided otherwise, and he, GTAF, detox and some others exploded in the IRC chat. The resulting logs were published by Tural and can be found here: tural.xenon7.net/lolsg.html
Make up your own mind about these guys.
After this chat, I banned Tural and GTAF from the forums and the IRC chat. All hell broke loose. Tural, GTAF and many other people starting spamming links and nonsense on the forums. Detox had even written a software program to spam posts to all the Halomods subsections, and, after having spammed many posts, Tural and GTAF sabotaged the emblem system by giving everyone emblems. It was a load of work to clean things up - I had to stay up very late, put the site down for a while, and turn off new user registrations. In the heat of the moment, many people spamming the site were banned. It's all completely rediculous.
Anyways, things have died down, and hopefully we've seen the last of this spam. I will be assembling a new staff team shortly. JK-47 is the first new member on the staff team, and I know he will make a great moderator that treats users with respect. Hopefully the atmosphere on HaloMods will change for the better, so that we can go ahead with the plans to convert this place into a great modding community.
Looks like quite a few feathers flew.
Im personaly glad to see those clowns gone i think now their gone halomods can start to reshape it self.
Any comments?
Re: Halomods finaly cuts ties
That's great. It has almost nothing to do with Modacity. Why do people insist on posting Halomods/maps related news here? I'm very tempted to lock this, but we'll see how this thread goes for now.
Re: Halomods finaly cuts ties
Well considering the site had a relaunch not so long ago and the people who caused the mass issue when it was relaunched are now banned.
Also because many of the members where originated from halomods.
Also, its the "offtopic" forum for a reason Reaperman...
Re: Halomods finaly cuts ties
They may have originated from there, but that still doesn't really make this all that relevant. Moderation issues on another forum is not news here.

Well, it is the off-topic forum...though I suppose it could be moved to Halo CE General Discussion because it's a fellow Halo CE related forum. It does not have 'nothing to do with Modacity' though, because it's one of the few sites to have any Halo CE-type forum, and you should care if a Halo site has hell broken loose. The game is dying more and more, the very same that brought most of you together years ago. Can't you just show some concern for the game and the homes to its players and mappers?

yea but, that's because we actually care
BUT, same goes for stuff about halomods, I mean we couldve just as well talked about the FBI site going on a rampage (Extreme example, don't check it), and I doubt a thread made about that would get locked.
so that's whats happening at halomods...and I wanted my own emblem!
Re: Halomods finaly cuts ties
Warlord has a point really.
The thing of it all is that it's drama involving people that most of us know, whether they're on this forum or not...
but... yar.
I don't have anything to say about the actual article though so I post a picture of a green fish.

Re: Halomods finaly cuts ties
I never really posted much on Halomods, although I browsed it occasionally. I always hated how those three treated everyone. I was afraid of posting something there because I didn't want to get mauled by one of them. Glad to see they're gone.
Re: Halomods finaly cuts ties
I sorta started from HaloMods before moving to H2CE.net, then finding H2Vista. Since I moved to H2CE, I noticed that HM not only seemed to push out less content (probably resulting from newer games), but even just general posts and ideas weren't showing up. I can't say this was directly a result from that staff, but something was wrong, and maybe the new staff can bring things back together. You have to admit, a LOT of public attention to modding came from HaloMods between Halo 1/2. GBX couldn't be the only source of Modacity members. (Not google, either... heh)
