Create a Modacity Wikipedia Page Contest
So those of you who know about Podacity might also know that during Episode 5 I announced plans for a contest like this. I seem to see a lack of a Wikipedia page for Modacity. Everyone seems to be getting a Wikipedia page, and yet we, a community of several hundred people, do not have one. So let us as a community make one.
Rules:
1) Do not break Wikipedia policy. They have enough assholes to deal with. If you are going to be the one who starts the Wiki page, make sure it is good enough to at least last till the next person can add to it.
2) This is a collaborative effort, while still being a competition. Don't go around deleting the page to make your own.
3) The winner will be decided from the person that contributes the most to the Wikipedia page. It would be helpful if you posted here what you did to the Wiki page every time you edit it. If not, then you must know that I don't know your IP address. You will need to log in to edit the Wiki page, post the edits in this thread, or notify me of your contribution some other way, or else I will not know that it was you who contributed.
This competition will go until October 10th (extended to Nov 1st due to Inferno trying to play chicken with a moderator and losing). Once the winner is decided, he will be able to claim his prize.
And what might this prize be? The ability to mess with Inferno. You will be able to select his name, user title, avatar, and signature for one week.
Nothing pornographic though.
Leader-board so far:
1) Xetsuei
2) Admiral Bacon
3) Limited
Edit: A link for those of you who want to edit it.
Edit2: I changed the URL to lead to Admiral Bacon's Wiki user page. Edit that instead.

:realsmug:
I bet some of you really want to win this.
Re: Create a Modacity Wikipedia Page Contest
They're just going to declare it to be unencyclopedic and delete it.
Re: Create a Modacity Wikipedia Page Contest
Let's try those last few posts again.
Re: Create a Modacity Wikipedia Page Contest
What sort of info should the page contain? (this is just for the starter page).
Games supported, Games played, the podcast, years active, origions of the community, relate to the Halo 1 page (specifically the CE section)..?
As it is, the page is about to get deleted because all it says is:

Pretty much all of this.
Re: Create a Modacity Wikipedia Page Contest
Not sure why my post was deleted, seeing how it was the complete truth. But again, like I said:
They're just going to declare it unencyclopedic and delete it, even if you guys do write a decent article for it. This place is too small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things for it to warrant its on Wikipedia page.
Re: Create a Modacity Wikipedia Page Contest
Yes, I agree with you king, I know what you're saying.
In the Podcast I say something like I'd be surprised if anyone makes a page that the Wikipedia moderators don't take down.
Re: Create a Modacity Wikipedia Page Contest
do it for sparta :hist101:
Re: Create a Modacity Wikipedia Page Contest
Can't hurt to try. If they do take it down, we can just award whoever did the most before Modacity disappeared from Wikipedia.
If we can find some kind of award or article independent of this site, then the mods will let us keep it up.

In order to be included in Wikipedia, the web content
must be either:
- The content itself has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the site itself
- This criterion excludes:
- Media re-prints of press releases and advertising for the content or site.
- Trivial coverage, such as newspaper articles that simply report the internet address, the times at which such content is updated or made available, a brief summary of the nature of the content or the publication of internet addresses and site or content descriptions in internet directories or online stores.
- This criterion includes reliable published works in all forms, such as newspaper and magazine articles, books, television documentaries, and published reports by consumer watchdog organizations.
- The website or content has won a well-known, reputable, and independent award, either from a publication or organization.
