I can't believe everyone still gets their panties in a bunch over ripping from H2 to CE.. I mean both games are by Bungie, he isn't claiming it as his own, so who cares. It's not like you wouldn't do it if you could.

Halo 2 uses bumpmapping to make realistic dents, scratches, lines, detail for the armour. correct me if im wrong, but i (55%) believe halo 1 doesnt use bumpmapping, so l33t has to do all the rigorous work of making sure the bitmaps work so that everything in-game looks just like halo 2. and, like dole said, rigging the halo 2 biped with the halo 1 skeleton is like.... trying to have sex with a printer >_> (jk, or mbO.o?) as you can see in the video, the part connecting the thigh and the crotch is stretched like rubber, and in other earlier pictures, the hands were... crippled, all because of skeleton problems. plus, the cubemaps or w/e dont work the same in halo 1 (again, correct me if im wrong), so l33t has to remake the shaders + cubemaps or w/e from ground up. which is hard if you want it to be as perfect as it gets. plus, the formats of things used in halo 2 arent the same as halo 1... i think
there you go, a crappy, no-knowledge explanation of why people shouldnt be so bitchy over h2 -> ce

You shouldn't really judge the real point of the topic on what he was playing on. The point is, it works.
But for those of you who still thinks its h2, I'll point out the flaws. Everything in halo 1 doesn't blend together. The edges between master chief and the background are jagged. Also, the hands are not rigged and the thighs are stretched. Look at this

Anyway, what are the current bugs? (since you didnt tell me in GBX)
Only know bugs are that:
- If you spawn with one weapon, the current weapon you are holding appears to be backpacked as well. Picking up another weapon fixes this though.
- Backpacked weapons don't disappear from the player when he dies. Working on a fix for this now though.
What is wrong with that it makes sense to me that if you die with a weapon on your back its going to stay on your back.Quote:

Get off Leets back. Quite frankly Bungie doesn't care, it may be illegal to rip the models from the game but they sure as hell haven't done anything about it. Part of the reason Bungie doesn't care is because of all the people who bought Halo 2. They KNOW its not our content even if we say it is. You cant lie about a model that was ripped from a game with so many sales.
