With lots of people i know, the 1.08 haloce patch causes invalid keys.
I searched around forum but i couldnt find a thread about it.
So is there any good solution for it?

Maybe for the people who don't have a legit copy of halo. I don't have this problem and it is the first I have heard of this... :confused2:

Were they using the 1.00ce NOCD crack before? Because if they were, I'm guessing they didn't have valid CD keys in the first place.
No problems here, haven't heard of anything like this happening either.
1.08 sucks anyway, no Yelo Battery or Third Person support.
Get 1.07 and the Version Changer app.
And no, I didn't pirate it, I have like three copies of the game >:V
I don't see why anyone would pirate it anyway. Not sure if they still have copies anywhere, but last I saw it was around $5. Even when I bought my copy, it had only cost me $20 (I think this was back in 04).Quote:

Hmmmm, I didnt lie, I can play with 1.08 with no problem. I just heard many people having this problem only with 1.08. I guess they just have invalid keys then, using cracks or crap to make it work.Quote:

If you think you can't buy the game anywhere you aren't trying hard enough. Newegg sells it. I'm sure that gamestop, EB games and other big localized game stores sell physical copies online.
They had several hundred copies of it in the Microsoft Store as well :3.
I've seen some case where part of the RPG_Beta5 glitches about quitting/rejoinning and such, some people would be unable to log in Halo getting a CD Key rejected message until they were unbanned...
Never heard of this problem before, probably just idiots not paying for the game.
If they illegally obtained it, then it won't work. That's the way it is, that's the way it should be.

1.08 could have a problem afterall the guy who made it just did it out of favor its possible they didnt test it too much before hand and missed something, im just saying its possible, but unlikely.
just buy the game, it used to cost more, so $20 isn't that bad of an asking price, but what TRULY sucks is that after you buy the game and DL the patch the disc becomes useless >.<

As for the invalid CD key, that will be gone soon, from my new server release (for 1.08 and can be changed with the serverlist command to 1.00) (www.vivid-abstractions.net for more).
I think you will find that 1.00 (cracked) has a better community so there is no reason for people to bitch about someone using cracked.

not worth usin the hacked strings, its fun for awhile then you notioce ost of the 1.0 servers just run basic maps and like 1-3 player hosted servers play like some obscure custom map.
not worth it, stick with 1.08 and use 1.07 if filming

Version changer workes with all servers; I was playing 1.00, 1.07 and 1.08 servers using the 1.07 executable.
