What a pitty that Valve is offering all these games for soo cheap after I've paid soo much for them. Now I remember why I have my values as against early adoption for products with degrading prices.

I got my half life for free from a friend who was moving. That was 4 years ago, so I dunno how much I saved by getting it for free. But I did get all those fun mods (counterstrike, opfor, blue shift,w/e) for free.
