Good News! Bear with us...

Good news! If you're seeing this post that means that your DNS has resolved Modacity.net to its new home on the dedicated server. After our host had taken down our website twice in less than a month, we decided to bring the site elsewhere. Now I am paying for a box that we have complete control over. Not only will that mean better performance (no 500's or slow loading), but it also means we can set up other applications such as possibly a game server in the future.

This transition has not been without hiccups. In the process of moving everything, we updated the forums to version 3.7.4. This represents quite a few steps up from our old version, so we are in the process of fixing and adjusting things in the back end. Expect a few things to be broken in the next couple of days. However, this version of vBulletin brings lots of great new features that I will not get into right now.

Please be patient while we get this setup stable. I know we have had shaky performance and uptime in the last month, but this should finally resolve all of those issues. We look forward to expansion here. Thank you for your understanding!

Sweet stuff... I swear, the past few times this site has gone down, I've like, gone in to withdrawals. I guess I have no life.

Glad to hear that there shouldn't be any problems or issues in the future. Those 500 errors and downtimes were starting to piss me off. It's great that something is finally being done.

I'm working on fixing the main style right now. They will be coming back soon.

Here's the thing. vBulletin's style system is a parent-child one. Children styles inherit whatever customizations the parent has, and then they have their own customizations. The "Modacity" style is our core setup. The other styles use the same HTML as the Modacity style, but have stylesheet customizations to give them different colors and imagery.

Once I'm satisfied with the tweaks and fixes made to the core style (a lot of things seemed to just break in the upgrade), I'll begin restoring the Halo, Source, and Crysis styles.

I thought this site was down for the past week. My bookmark was setup for the halo subdomain which 404's now. lol Thanks Timo for the heads up about the URL change.
