[GALLERY] n00b's stuff (probably not your thing)

Yeah, the icon says it's 3D but it's 3D models so don't get your hopes up. :p
This gallery will mostly consist of finished models (with a few exceptions) that I'm either painting for competitions or simply to kill time. I'm sure there's at least 2 or 3 people here who may care.

I encourage you to fool around with different paints and such. Try color changing paints, dark and light primers, and thinners, etc. also, multiple thin thin layers. They'd be a lot more interesting.

I've tried dark primers. Hated them (red took forever to get a flat colour).
What do you mean by "colour changing paints"?

Also, when your painting models for an army, it's best to restrict your pallet to a few key colours for the majority of your models, to keep the force looking uniform. Kinda restricts how much you can branch out as far as colour choice goes.

When I say color changing paints, I'm referring to paints usually called "candy" or "chameleon". Depending on the angle light hits the surface, they reflect different colors. I painted a friend's motorcycle with this stuff, changed from black, purple, red, bronze green, and blue.

Maybe, I've never had to look for them in small quantities. They do come in a spray form, so maybe spraying a bit in a bottlecap or something would suffice for you. Other than that, I'd say start working with catalyzed primers as well, though that might be a bit excessive for what you do. I hate solvent based paints and primers.

If you were referring to post 8, I diden't paint those. I just posted them for people to decide which model I should get (PS. I ignored all your opinions and got the librarian).

Get your mates together and have a painting day where you show each other what tricks you've learned and get a bunch of models done in one day. Paintings always more enjoyable with company.

Some of that stuff is looking real good! Especially that Terminator and that Hormagaunt! And for the other stuff...well you were a beginner at one time too ;) It's not bad though. In any case, I'm glad to see another Warhammer thread at the same time as mine.
