Computer Setup Brag Thread 2.0

If anyone remembers from GBX, I started a computer brag thread god knows how long ago on GBX. so, since a lot of people have gone through upgrades since then, I thought I would repost the thread here. Since we now have a tab in our profiles for computers, I think that we should mostly post pictures and our computer's specs, plus any other cool stuff about it. Has an AMD 64 3400+ skt 754, a DFI Infinity NF4-4X, a 7600 GT PCI-Ex., a gig of OC'ing Ram, and a 320 gig Seagate perpendicular recording HD. 700 Watt PSU as well. waiting for K8L or C2Q, hope I have enough power to run one XD.

Here is my future HCE/H2V dedicated server box. Has a Celeron D 2.1 ghz, 1 gig of DDR3200 RAM, a 6800LE, and an 80 gig HD. Nice and small too XD. All I need to do is reinstall Windows since I fuxxored it by installing the wrong mobo driver XD.

Games with chunky cases rock! I hate the paper/cardboard sleeves that are included with most microsoft games, they break and get lost so easily, while these big fat cases are about as easy to lose as my desk. I will post some fun pics of the innards of the soon to be H2Vforums dedicated server #1 a little bit later(I say this because someone else might want to make one = D). Right now im having serious issues with it (it BSODs right after the windows logo flashes, im not used to skt 478 Intel mobo's, so if someone could help me with that the server would be brought online a lot quicker), but I'll post some pics of it running later. I'll use this post to post pictures.

edit: And I just realized, when I took that picture, it snapped it soo fast, the GPU fan looks like it's not moving at all. It always runs at nearly 5k RPMs.

main unit is an XPS 600 duo core 3.2 with full 4 gig ram, 2 x 240gig drives and a pair of nvidia 7800's running in tandem on PCI-e.

This thing is huge (think piece of furniture....)


I also have an older unit with 3ghz processor and 2 gig memory that I use for the dedicated halo server when needed. Finally, theres a really old 2.4 ghz machine that has a bunch of hard drives jammed into it for accessing on the home network.

I know of FEAR I just dont know what it has to do with my desk/desktop.

Dedi works, I'll leave it on tomorrow while im at school so no one can play on it (my bro gripes about it being loud so I cant leave it on at night, yet he sings to songs on itunes...we share a room:eyesroll:. Please kill me now). System specs:

Celeron D 2.133 ghz skt 478 ($30 on newegg)
ASROCK PM4800 (free from Bro)
6800LE w/ pipelines and vertex shaders reactivated (bought for $100 god knows how long ago)
768megs of Crucial Ballisticz successfully run at ~500mhz on DFI mobo (soon to be replaced with 1 gig pc 3200, freeby)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 80 IDE drive (All the way back from my first computer, an Athlon XP 2600+, about $40 when I bought it)
NEC 4570A DVD-RAM ($30 on newegg)
Apevia XQ-Pack case ($70 birthday present =D)

what I plan on adding:
*SB Audigy 2 ZS if I can find a deal on an XFI or whatever is out when I upgrade
*as mentioned before, 1 gig total of ram
*silent fan (so it can stay on at night)
*passive CPU/VGA coolers (same reason as above)
*I might attempt to Watercool it, I just need to get a hold of my $5 waterblocks that actually perform well when youhave mounting hardware that fits xD
*gigabit ethernet card that works/wireless card.
*beefier PSU (using the stock Apevia 460 watt unit)
*Seagate 7200.10 320 gig SATA drive if I can save up some cash)
*set of cheap speakers for it xD
*If I have any budget left after my upgrade to K8L/C2Q next year I may get a skt 754 mobo and put my current system in there.

liquid cooling *which does not do all that well, but my cpu is an oc pentium 4 3.0 which creates more heat than a blast furnace*

ditch the thermaltake water cooling system and make your own custom setup, it will perform a lot better. Thermaltake's cooling products are sub-par at best. Their cases and PSU's are good though.

Yea, if all my fans are running at fill capacity (which is rare), then I usualy can't even hear myself think...

the only other computer that i've heard that comes close to my old setup is my sister's old gateway. When that thing started up, it sounded like a Boing 737 taking off.

Only complaint I have about my current case is its weight, but the thing is so strong I feel confident I could sledgehammer it and it wouldn't even get scratched.
