yo! my how it has changed. Anyway I have jus bought myself a windows 7 laptop and want to install Halo. I cant find my CD ANYWHERE! I have my CD key but not the physical CD. Is there any possible way I can install it minus the CD? That way I can then get the No-CD patch and wont have to worry about it again
Well, by the time you're done updating the game, you won't need a no-cd patch. Also, a no-cd patch would prevent you from playing online.
My advice:
Download Halo Custom Edition and install that with your CD-Key. Then download the SP maps from Halomaps.org along with a nice Campaign UI to access them.
How would it prevent me from playing online? I have it on my desktop and it works just fine. Suggestion sounds good, but too bad there's like 6x more players and servers on PC than CE.
The only way you could install is if you downloaded (pirated) an .iso file of the game disc and either mounted it to a drive, or burned it to a disc. Then you can use your (non-pirated) CD key to finish the install. We here at Modacity do not support pirating, so DO NOT ask anyone here for a copy of their disc.
I don't see the problem with downloading an ISO of the Halo PC cd if you're using your own CD key.

Because you would be uploading that pirate file to others, who do not have their own CD key.
He doesn't need to download it via some type of P2P network, and I've see a few direct downloads for the Halo PC ISO floating around. I thought Modacity even hosted one for awhile somewhere...

I like how you worded that as if i was new to "Modacity". I can't seem to find any direct downloads, and I've always been hesitant to DL torrent. There's one at the pirate bay but didn't they get shut down? I'm hesitant to get my PC tracked and hacked.Quote:

But yeah, if the game requires a keycode to install, an iso is perfectly fine. I know a few games that have online downloads of their installer.
Hope you don't get disappointed by the halo pc comm like I was. it's really empty or the servers were only playing hugeass or extinction.
