"The Passing" has only 3 of the L4D1 survivors?

All good reasons for Rochelle to be killed instead. Bill/Francis are too badass to actually die and Louis can't die thanks to the power of peelz (and what sevlag said).

Also, I don't mind them putting some plot/story into the L4D games, even if it means one of the best survivors dies. I mean, think about it: we're having discussions on characters we think will die/shouldn't die. It may not have been done through super complex characterization, but we managed to find some personal attachment to at least one of the characters. It may not have been totally necessary, but it makes the game a lot more fun.

Then again, I think we can agree that Rochelle blows because of the lack of character. :shrug:

its one of the L4D1 survivors, not an L4D2 one, besides rochelle is in the same category as louis...

I don't think they're getting rid of one specific character. I think you can still choose your character, but in their future DLC one of the players will have to sacrifice themselves ingame. It'd be pretty silly to force one character to die. It probably happens during the finale somehow, you have to run back and trigger something so the rescue vehicle can get away without you on it. Then, in The Passing, there will be simply one less player slot in the server.

Bill is old. All of the other characters in the game are young and generally fit (Coach is fat, but at least he's younger than Bill). Bill could have suffered a fall and busted his hip or something.

I agree with the notion of the player choosing which survivor dies. I will choose ~~Rochelle~~ Black Zoey every time. If they force bill to die, I will be very angry.

Hopefully Zoey will be added to the playable characters in all l4d2 versus maps so I won't have to aid Rochelle's search for KFC off ledges anymore.

Also my money's on Francis, and this decision's influenced from an article I read in a GameInformer about character names; Bill comes from William which comes from Willahelm, "will" being passion or desire, and "helm" of course is a helmet. Louis derives from Ludwig which means "famous warrior," and Zoey derives from an old greek word meaning "life."

Francis, on the other hand, comes from Franciscus, which means "Frenchman."

I dont think the l4d2 characters are entirely without personality. Nick is pretty cool. Ellis gives me something to hate. The l4d1 characters aren't really any more full of zest than the new ones. I will agree that rochelle is entirely worthless though.
