I am close friends with someone working on Project Assembly, a Gen 3 modding tool (Similar to ascension and alteration for previous games), except this supports Halo 4 Already. He gave me a copy to test, and it does infect support Halo 4. I asked him where he got the build to find the offsets for the maps and crap, and he said there is a copy of the Halo 4 Beta build somewhere on usenet. The catch is it's called something completely different, so its not called "Halo 4 Beta Build xx.xxx.xxx"

The maps they used to make it were from the developer network, they only had DLC not the actual beta.
There is a beta floating around, see the halo 4 VHS release.

On a vaguely related note, I still find myself shocked at the closed-doors development method of thinking that developers have. They really need to learn to include their communities, especially if they have prequel games already on the market, when it comes to development. That's one of the things I'm actually loving Ubisoft for with Ghost Recon Online. Their community team is doing their best to push for player-facing announcements and even some inside looks at development through live streams and such. They're still fighting the archaic keep-it-secret-keep-it-safe mentality but at least they're doing what they can within their own "team" (ex: the GRO team of Ubisoft instead of the higher-up Ubisoft general guys).
Leaks shouldn't be a problem if the developers are including their own god damn community in the creative process. That's not to say that the game should be entirely made on community feedback. Because most consumers don't even know what they want in a lot of cases.
Community input ruined the other Halo games though...

Ever since the gears 3 leak pretty much all the internal copies stored on partnernet has required passwords to access files that's even if you have a Devkit that hasn't been flagged.
A lot of Dev kits are obtained from china and marked for destruction.

SO I know for a fact this beta was stolen off Xbox Live, mainly because I know the people who did the VHS release. Then for the people who did asembly, there was DLC hosted on partnernet for halo 4 which gave them a .map file to make that program, but not an entire build of the game.

Well not to sound like a dick, but very good xbox 360 modder(reverse engineer) publicly released his method of getting jtags online, and that was in early September until about the 19th when MS changed the Xbox Live hive's Challenge response. So people were online with jtags for like 2 weeks, but you obviusly don't know much about them.
