Modacity Night Before Christmas Game Night?

I was just playing Halo CE, and I remembered all the game nights we used to have. Especially the one year when CMT released their MP map. Good fucking times. We need to have another Christmas one! I can't host a Dedi, but I know modacity has a few Servers on Halo CE as it is so maybe we can just change one of them? Anyway I'll list some personal favorite maps.

I totally want in on this.

W4rtorn was fun cause it had the awesome troop hogs.

No Remorse: 16 players Team KOTH (30 minutes) (5 minutes to win)
New Mombasa Classic: 16 players CTF (1 hour) (3 captures to win)
Wartorn Cove 3: 16 players CTF (1 hour) (5 captures to win)
Mystic: 16 players CTF (30 minutes) (3 captures to win)
Portent: 16 players CTF (1 hour) (5 captures to win)
Wet Dunes: 16 players CTF (30 minutes) (3 captures to win)
Mudslide: 16 players CTF (1 hour) (3 captures win)

ALTERNATIVE OLDSCHOOL MAPS:

Siege: 16 players CTF (30 minutes) (3 captures win)
Snowcast: 16 players Team Slayer (30 minutes or 50 kills)

I would prefer to play Cliffhanger over Mystic or Wet Dunes. Cliffhanger has done really well in past game nights.

To be honest, I've never been a fan of Mystic, Portent, or Mudslide (and never played Wet Dunes). They're pretty maps, but not particularly fun. I'd much prefer other classic maps like Cliffhanger, Nightcamp, Casualty Gorge, Fissure Fall, High Low, Lost Cove, Needleosity.

killa_ftw, you should totally, like, make the gametypes so that I can upload those too. I'm totally not lazy or anything but the last time I made the gametypes for a gamenight everyone yelled at me for doing it wrong. That will probably still happen, but do it anyway.

It would also be nice to have some variety. We play Cliffhanger every time. I think Mystic is too big of a map, though. Also, we don't even have any small maps. Chiller, anyone?

So jcap sucks at FTP permissions apparently.

He gave me write access to the maps and config, but not gametypes.

Server is at the point where I can just upload the gametypes and click "start server" though. So once he fixes that the server will be online.

OK so apparently the FTP isn't even linked to the CE server. The init changes I've made took no effect so it's obviously not linked together properly at all.

jcaps shit is extremely borked.

Indeed. Was late due to unexpected plans but this was fun. 9/10 would play again.

Anyone want to contribute a map list for New years? I know Launch Bay X and Siege need to be in there.

Here's my map cycle suggestion for new years:

1. Cliffhanger CTF
2. Launch Bay X TS
3. Chiller FFA
4. Castle 2 Castle CTF
5. Needleosity FFA
6. C3LL FFA

Games should be limited to ~25 minutes or so.

Also, it shouldn't actually be on new years because most people have plans then.

For the next event we should make two alternative mapcycles depending on server population. It seemed that yesterday we mainly played big 8v8 maps when we only were about 6 people. Rather would have 3v3'ed on e.g. tempo than the 3v3 on Mystic. :)

I got home at 11PM and was pretty drained. Saw the server got up 30 minutes prior. Wanted to play LoL for a bit. Didn't want to deal with Modacity :dramabomb: in these games. :ugh:

Can we do gamenight on a normal day? Most people were doing something else than playing computer games on Christmas. I guess that's how it's going to be for new years game night too...
