Who says H2V doesn't have good graphics?
For those who do have it, go into Campaign and grab some of your best shots by pressing F11. Then open your My Games\Halo 2\Screenshots folder and convert your tif files into jpg's and upload them for others to see!
(Sorry, I was bored and needed a reason to post these pictures, lol.)
... are you kidding? The graphics for Halo 2 Vista is nothing compared to a game like Crysis! Go check out a HD video, maybe then you'll realize. Moreover, the pics aren't that attractive at all, instead they are just dull. And i think there is another topic on posting your SP pics?
I hope you realize that it isn't about the graphics all the time. Crysis is just going to be some crappy "techdemo" game.

Hey, Can some one do me a favour.
Can you take a picture of the battle rifle, but have the game set to 640 x 800 (or 800 x 600) which ever is the lowest.
and if possible have it set to windowed and all settings on high.
I never play it full screen and high res, maybe thats why I think the gfx are ugly. I'm sure the detail will be higher if the screen res is lower.

Bungie wants to keep their own art style. I personally think that it looks amazing, and is exactly as they wanted it to look.
Also, those shadows look bad because I'm running at lower settings, I was messing with different setups to find the best.
Why would anyone in their right mind compare Halo 2 Vista to Crysis, Halo 2 Vist is DirectX 9, where as Crysis DirectX10.
Plus, the screenshots that Lightning posted were bad examples on a low or medium graphics setting.
You make it sound like Crysis is going to be the best game, but I am sorry but everyone who thinks Crysis will be GOD will be disappointed as Crysis was originally a tech-demo. Now it is some eye candy that you can interact with. Woopty doo!Quote:

well bungie never had any part in this and they have no idea what people are talking about. hired gun did this and they @#$%ed up the whole game with the port but only some copies are messed up and you can always return for full refund at circuit city if your disk is messed up.Quote:

I'm pretty sure working with this engine you could make some very cool looking stuff that looks better then the original content, so it does have a lot of potential.

Also, this is a three-year-old game. And, they didn't 'revamp' the graphics - they made them more 'compatible' with high-res displays. Halo Xbox ran at 640x480, on 'medium' H2V graphics. Obviously, people are going to want to play it on higher quality than this, so they just upped the resolutions and enabled AA and AF.
Please stop trying to find someone to blame for something that rocks. If you want to let them know how you feel, email Hired Gun (or Bungie if you don't want to get a reply).
I'm seriously sick and tired of all these fools running around, shitting everywhere and never giving back anything slightly useful in return. It's as if people joined these boards just to point out that low (or medium) graphics aren't as good as something completely different.

PS: Question for Lightning - self-shadowing... I don't remember seeing that in the Xbox version, or am I wrong? Anyway, if that's what it's going to look like on medium, I can't wait to get my 8800 GTS in the mail.

Low is xbox quality, people just couldn't tell how shitty the xbox version looked for the simple reason it was on a 640 x 480 resolution with low res textures. And you can't tell that anything looks bad when your looking at a 480i screen from 12 feet away.

H2V does not have self-shadowing and if it does, they haven't used it.
Also, the graphics look pretty good for a 3 year old game. The thing that bothers me is that it's extremely unoptimisted, the performance is just unacceptable.
Ok, I finally got H2V, and I just have to say, it is extremely beautiful. The first level was a bit overbumped or something, because it seemed graphically inferior. However, after that it became very nice. Some things, like the heat waver seen on some weapons fire (the scarab, for example) rival even some current games. Other stuff isn't as awe-inspiring, but I am still very impressed. It exceeded my expectations by A LOT. Sure, the live stuff might be a pain to get started, but gameplay and graphics are very cool. :lol: [/rant]

PCI-E 7950GT KO, 4xAA High settings 1280x1024: At the beginning of campaign levels there is lag, which dramatically slows the cut scenes down. Other than that it's fine.
PCI-E 7600GS 4xAA High settings 1280x1024: Good in most places, very low fps when going into levels, especially campaign cut scenes.
AGP 4x/8x Radeon 9200 0xAA Low settings 800x600: Very laggy at all times, can hardly play it.
7 Series seems to struggle some places, other than that it's fine. Hope this helps :)
