Re: So what do those mics symbols stand for
As Halo2Vista said,
it stands for voice, you have the ability to talk if your Vista has the recording device setup correctly.
If you've been in a game with people talking, their names with the same icon appear above the scores, and, if you are in the pregame or post-game lobby, same idea, 'cept their names are there. They just get those speaker icons to light up.
Re: So what do those mics symbols stand for
The Speakers with boxes around them mean that that player doesn't have voice ability (no mic). The Speakers mean they do, the speakers also light up when your talking.
Re: So what do those mics symbols stand for
OH that's what it meant...but
When people join my server, I see the little box thingy, and then it turns into the regular mic symbol...but they don't use their mics
Re: So what do those mics symbols stand for
Whats really annoying is there is no feature to lower the game volume when you speak into the mic and to have it muted at all times except when you want to talk. Very often, someone makes some sound and you can hear it echoing all through out everone's mic, or you would hear some backgroudn noise like a fan running the whole time because it activates automatically when it hears a sound.

Yeah there is... :3 It's also voice activated.

Good thing I can mute my mic whenever by flipping a switch.
Re: So what do those mics symbols stand for
Yea, the only way to mute your mic on H2V is to have a headset that allows you to switch off the mic.

Thank you. That is what I was after...
Personally, I have a USB headset/mic. But in the 'Live personal settings' I always leave my mic muted so I can chat with my clan on Teamspeak. Now if there's nobody else on TS, then I unmute my mic so I can talk in game.
