HI everyone, I plan on getting H2V soon and I was wondering how I would go about recording my gameplay. Is there any techincal things I have to buy and put in my computer, or do I just need a certain program that records the gameplay for me? If so, can someone recommend me a good program that I should consider. Thx. By the way, I hope i posted in the right forum; if not sry.

unfortunately with fraps you will have to have a monster of a machine if you want to record and play with ok fps :(
FRAPS, but it records poorly in Vista it seems. I'm talking like 8 fps only, when H2V on XP stays at a solid 30... at 1680x1050.
I found this cool alternative to fraps the other day called Taksi. It's open source... The last stable version isn't made for Vista, but it does a decent job of recording in Vista (not amazing, though) It has a lot of different codec options. It also allows you to pause your recording... I've play around with it just a little, and it seems like a nice program.

Then try GameCam, I don't know if it works for Vista, however.
It works in Vista for Halo CE, I haven't tried it yet on Halo 2 Vista but I suspect it will be OK.Quote:

FRAPS is a pig on any OS, don't use it.
ZD Soft Game Recorder is rock solid on vista, although finding it on a torrent has been challenging....

Some people use GameCam, but the watermark int he unregistered version is horrible...
