I got a small problem with my ground texture when i compile and load my map in H2 Sapien. It turns into a rainbow with #s and letters all over the place. Can any one tell me why this happens and how to fix it? Thanks.

That probly means you didn't step you the shader in max properly.
is it a custom texture or one that came with H2ek?
No ground textures came with the editing kit.
yea but if its an indoor map, he may just be calling it ground when its the floor
No its a Metal texture that came with H2ek But i tryed using a Custom Bitmap and an old Halo 1 pc bitmap and it is still doing the same thing. Some one needs to get a really well made Tut out. The one's on halomaps.org are realy realy crappy.
make sure you have the folder directory correct so if its a metal put
f_im metalname
also some textures shaders are named different, so its good to open guerilla, go to scenario>>shaders>>forerunner>>industrial>>metals and look for a shader that looks the similar name to youre's then use that name in max
Please work on your spelling and grammar, we're really particular about that here. About the texture, you haven't set up your shader correctly.Quote:

Hey sniper whats up, just do what i do place your custom bitmap in the f_im folder and load it from 3ds max like that.

Check to see if it's in the BSP tag.
Are you absolutely sure you edited the old shader_collections tag or made a new one properly? If you didn't, it won't ref your shader.
Can any one make a shader for (detailed grass) from Halo CE, or give me a good ground texture? I'm sick and tired of it not working.
Ok i made a shader for Containment snow but when i compile the map and open it up in Sapien its not there like i can see right through the ground. And is there a plugin or a way to make a .bitmap file a .bmp or image file?
Don't use the textures that default with the shader template. Be sure to use your own textures. Such as a bitmap that was made with photoshop. Try to use an alpha too, so you can use the advantages of multiple detail maps.
heres a bitmap and shader file, just replace my custom bitmap with yours and you should be set

Hay i made a shader for the bitmap (Containment_Snow) and it compiles but now when i go to packedge the map windows vista says that the packedger has stopped working and needs to close. It gets stuck when it adds bitmap 13. any one know why?
And its opens and displays in sapien
