Well, I finally painted up a skin for my MAC 11. Here it is, almost finished.

I think for a first, it came out pretty well done.
It's gross pls get out
The bottom of the handle looks like it could be chamfered or something, to make it a little more appealing. Just looks flat right now.
That's because that's what Mac 11s look like. :p
Looks like win, even though I'm no huge fan of the gun's looks.

Handle, magazine and frame look a bit un-contrasted, though the lighting consistency looks spot-on.

Thanks for the comments, guys. I'll be working on the magnum, and hopefully finishing it up soon. The polished metal is giving me trouble, so I may switch over to matte black.

It looks good for a third person model, but the silencer looks really low poly for something going in FP.
The brushed metal came out looking very good, although I won't say anytihng until I see the matte black.
It's fine for a fp model. Most fp barrels are 8-12 polies in halo. Good 'nuff.
Btd, you can animate it if you want, but i won't hold you to it. Yeah, get what you've got done before you go jumping into something else, haha.

You can do that someday, too. It really depends on the weapon itself. You'll be able to bring the poly count down a lot later on, once you start figuring out good poly distribution. Thanks for the comment on the skin:DQuote:

what is the technical explanation for the size of the silencer?
"Bigger is better".
Silencers of this type are liquid filled. The R.O.F. of a mac11 in .380 cal is 1600 rpm. With ~26 rounds/ second (in full auto) passing through the silencer at that rate, the liquid needs to stay cool in order to Suppress sound, so yes, bigger is better, but that's why.Quote:
