Downloading!! I think i know how ya did it, so i wanna be 100% certain about it :>
EDIT: Download is going at 4 KBs a second -_____-..
ooo 1 mb/sec lets race lol. I think this tut will be interesting. we will see...
No, its just that one sig he had was a 'ms paint' looking image changing into a texture. So it made me think he just draws the image in simple colors in ms paint (or PS) then puts it in PS and adds detail using brushes and modifiers.
EDIT: LOOOOOL
EDIT2: Yep. I was basically right. He draws a simple image then makes the details.
Absolutely amazing. Only a genius could possibly follow that tutorial.
Hawt stuff!
I'ma downloadin'! :awesome:

Yeah..
I liked it, I knew you used the sponge filter.. I just knew it!
No I used sponge filter because I was lazy when I was doing it. Normally I use custom made brushes and just lots of layering, but my connection to the internets fails so i had to make a short and simple one
sponge filter is ftw guys, as long as you implement it right and don't rely on it.

Thats the result of me playing with it. I made it at 1AM, hence why it doesn't tile properly xD. Also, my base material is made of fail. Dane's tut is awesome sauce though.
Best way to check if a texture's seamless is to use the offset filter.
Legionnaire thats hot texture :P
I like to add rulers at 50% both X and Y to my screen and only work in 1/4 of the image, then I like to flip it to make it tileable :)
Oh, and I feel resolution 70 isnt high enough, I use 150 when I make my textures.
I know I'm not supposed to bump ooold threads but I've got something to contribute to it:
I think the links down, does anybody have a new link to it? I reformatted and lost the video, and I'd like to take a look at this again to 'learn'.
Its up, bloody rapidshare though, mirror any one :( please? :D
I have a newer much bettter video. It's not forerunner stuff, but it's far more useful to learn from.

Dane gave me permission to share this link:
http://t1xanton.com/files/Videos/tut..._Tutorials.rar
It's both of his tutorials in one rar, only 100 MB.
This tutorial was awesome, so after I saw what he did with his line tool i messed around with one of the original halo textures.
Pretty cool what you can do with just the line tool and nothing fancy:D
